Why isn't topical cyclosporine used in the treatment of chronic anterior uveitis?
I was wondering why topical cyclosporine or tacrolimus for that matter is never used in the treatment of chronic uveitis, but systemic cyclosporine is used in many cases. Do its chemical properties mean that is just isn't absorbed well?
Has anyone been diagnosed with uveitis?
I was diagnoses with uveitis about a month a go. I still see blurry with my eye and my doctor tells me that he can't be sure if my vision is going to be the same like it was before the inflammation he thinks that it affected the power of my eye. Has anyone had similar issues.

In the last 2 years I have had bouts with scleritis and uveitis in my left eye.One time the doc told me I could wear contacts when I wasn't experiencing a flare up of either condition.Six weeks later he says that he never said that and I can't wear lenses. I'm going for a second opinion Friday.I'm just curious if anyone has experience with this? Thanks

Uveitis??? I think I have it.....?
Ive had some recent infection in the face. Me nor the doctors know what type of infection this could be since I didnt go in right away to get checked out. I dont know why I did that. I guess I thought i could heal this bump and it would go away on its own. After the bump healed I thought everything was in the clear...but then thats when I start havin all this weird stuff happen to my face and head. For a month straight I was having crawly skin, night sweats, and would wake up in the middle of the night to find this infection causing new bumps then leaving scars on other parts of my face. Of course I then went to get checked out to see what was goin on. But even while the new outbreaks were scattering all over in all my mucus membranes eyes, nose,ears, even felt like internal organs were bein attacked...the doctors ran all these test on me to find nothing. Now im at least on antidepressants for the pain all this caused my whole body now. But now Im still havin pain in the eyes. I have all the symptoms of uveitis. Both eyes are now always constant red with all these extra blood vessels showing up on white part of eye. I have itching and pain in both eyes but mostly in my left eye which was the first eye to get infected. Blurred vision. Sensitive to light. Floaters. I ran and got tested for my eyes as soon as symptoms came only for the eye doctor to tell me nothing is wrong. Now Ive been experiencing this eye pain for a month and a half.
