Will a splint or mouthguard help tmj?
i am a night grinder and clencher who suffers from tmj. im at the stage where its beginning to click out of control. please help please give answers if you really know what your talkng about. thanksplease give answers if you really know what your talkng about. thanks
Would i benifit from a tmj splint?
well i have tmj and my jaw lock and bloody hurts when i try and close it afterwards my overbite is slightly bigger than normal 4mm would a splint get rid of the constant pain and is it free on the nhs im 13

Help! tmj problems :(?
i had jaw clicking on my right side that was annoying but wasnt a big deal but then it turned into locking everytime i opened my mouth and if i opened it more when it was locked it made this really loud pop but it became unlocked and as i closed my mouth after that it made some weird noise as i think my jaw was going back into place. i got an x ray after this and the doctor said there was nothing wrong with it so i went to a dentist and he said he thinks i grind my teeth at night and he will make me nightguard next month. ive read alot about tmj and they say to where a splint 24 7 but he never suggested anything like that. should i ask him about it or is the nightguard the best option.also when i wake up in the morning my left side of my jaw clicks and then goes away after 10 minutes. i would do anything to get rid of lockjaw even if it means going back to clicking. what are the best treatments and any other good places in sydney that are really good with treating tmj? i also have no pain but apparently that sets in later on.

this is actually specifically for doctors. i dont really want to go to the doctor becouse its really annoying and im not one to go for a simple pain in my jaw unless it becomes to much. i did research for it and figured out that i might have tmj disorder becouse i have most of the symptoms. Symptoms associated with TMJ disorders may be Biting or chewing difficulty or discomfortClicking, popping, or grating sound when opening or closing the mouthDull, aching pain in the faceEarache particularly in the morning Headache particularly in the morning Hearing lossMigraine particularly in the morning Jaw pain or tenderness of the jawReduced ability to open or close the mouthTinnitusNeck and shoulder painDizzinessi experience all of these except for tinnitus, neck and shoulder pain, and hearing loss. i think this is actually cus my tmj isnt to horrible but im not sure if i have it. i read on other sites of how to cure it at home witch is to basically relax your mind and breath and massage and apply heat or cold wich i have already been doing that becouse its common sense for me when i feel pain like that. also, research also told me that your jaw gets stuck open or closed at times but that hasnt happened to me either. so do i have tmj? if i do, how do i cure it at home? or do i have to see a doctor?
Where can you get tmj splint??
Well i have a bit of tmj and my jaw locks so would i bennefit from a splint and would it stop the pain? where do you go to the dentist or ortho? and what would happen if my back teeth dont touch after it would i have to get braces??

So about 3 days ago the right side of my jaw started to hurt I didn't really worry about it because I had that sort of pain before. The next day it hurt a little more but that was all. Now Yesterday and today it was to a point that it hurt so badly I couldnt really talk, it was hard for me to eat and I couldnt really open my mouth very wide and if I tried to it would hurt and if made little movement I would feel this pain. I told my dad to buy me some advil and it made the pain go away but if i moved my jaw it still hurts. Now today I woke up and it was hurting so I decided to take some Advil the pain went away but only now I cant close my mouth all the way my teeth dont align anymore my jaw is to one side and it looks weird I mean its not noticeable but it feels really weird. Do you think it might be tmj? Hae you ever had it if so how was your experience? Does it go away?
What types of doctors can help with fixing tmj problems?
i wanna know where i can can go to help fix my tmj. I think i need surgery, but i want my tmj to be gonei have normal tmj with jaw displacement issues
Is there any good TMJ Mouth guards in the stores?
My dentist recommended me to get a mouth guard for tmj. He said I can get one from Walgreens or CVS, but I looked online and all I see is that none of them are really for TMJ. Anyone have any recommendations for ones that are for TMJ? Thanks.
PLEASE HELP!!!!! TMJ PROBLEMS??? DIZZINESS!!?
Ok so I've been feeling dizzy for about 5 months now 24 7 It's not like the dizzyness you feel when you get up really quick and you feel the room spinning around. It's more like a sense of you not being here like if it's not really me like if im floating sensation. IDK it's really hard to explain. Anyways it all started in mid December, I got really sick and I had strong pain in my ears and throat. I drank medicine and te next day the pain was less but thats when I started feeling that dizziness sensation. And ever since that day the sensation hasn't gone away. I feel it 24 7. Stress makes it worse. I've been to the doctor twice they just gave me medicine for infection and had an MRI done for my head and it came out normal. Sometimes I even get panic attacks cus I don't know what's wrong with me One doctor told me I mite have tmj cus of my braces which mite have caused me my dizzyness. I also have frequent hedaches. I have had my braces for 2 years now and I wear rubber bands to fix my overbite. So what do you guys suggest me? What could it be? What should I do? Please help And thank you
Issues with TMJ (tempromandibular joint disorder)?
i have recently developed TMJ issues, and my mother thinks it has to do with the fact that i had both braces and a jaw expander in the past. i also had multiple teeth pulled, and developed a cough a while back that, though has lessened, seemed to make the TMJ more noticeble. i don't chew gum.is there any way to lessen the tmj naturally? i tried a mouth guard, but it was too large. plus, it shifted my bottom jaw so far forward that i couldn't even chew, which eventually made the TMJ worse. i also wear a retainer, if that helps, and this said retainer hit a bit of a rough spot a while back i piece at the front broke off, and i'm wondering if this is compromising my jaw placement during the night?one more thing, does gum chewing aggravate TMJ so much that it would be impossible improbable to get over it while chewing gum? because i was considering chewing gum once in a while to lessen food cravings, but my jaw is so uncomfortable lately that i don't know if i should risk it. what kind of solutions are there?

ive had tmj for years and is there ANY solution to stop my overly cliking jaw it clicks so much when i saw swallow..eat anything always cracking? any tips or cures?
