I developed small cell lung cancer January this year. I have not been able to eat since this time.?
I have the chemo taste in my mouth and just driving past a fast food business upsets my stomach. I have been living off of Ensure. Thanks for any ideas concerning the taste. I have already lost 50. lbs.

Hey yahoo users, ive been woundering is it normal for doctors to take one mounth for them to give a pet scan after being diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer, she was diagnosed a week ago or two ago and they say that she will be scanned somtime in march If any of you know the regular wait time on this please tell me, also it would be great if you could tell me how to get this scan quicker? Thanks guysAlso it is Adeno cancer or , adenocarcimano somthing like that and she has had other tests and it is said that she has 30ml tinged blood or somthing like that

Mom has stage 4 small cell lung cancer.?
She was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer back in December of 2010. At the time, they noticed it had spread to both lungs, heart, back, liver, and multiple tumors in the brain. She was on a heavy dose of both chemotherapy and radiation therapy basically from December through March with small periodic breaks here and there. She is being moved to a Hospice House today due to her current condition very weak, barely able to eat, heavy swelling in arms and hands, increased pain mainly in the back and unable to handle chemo or radiation. I am wondering with the hospice comfort cares and without radiation or chemo, how long can she survive? Based on the changes I saw in her over the past 48 hours, I am not thinking very long. I was curious if anyone else had a similar situation with a family member or close friend.
If small cell lung cancer has spread to the brain, is the prognosis dim?
Stage 4 small cell has just been diagnosed and was found on the brain at diagnosis. Is it pretty much a time to make someone comfortable and prepared? Or does chemo and radiation sometimes work even if it is in stage 4 or is that just a futile effort to preserve life?

the nurse called from the nursing home and said that the dr said she had small cell lung cancer, she has horrible lungs anyway, shes 80, there is nothing we can do to treat it because it would make her feel worse. my question is has anyone you know gone through this and what is the life expectancy for this cancer??? thanks in advance.... still in shock

Small cell lung cancer survivor experiences?
My mom was diagnosed with stage four small cell lung cancer last christmas. It had spread to her liver and she had a mass in her lung. However, chemotherapy got rid of both.A few months after, there were spots on her brain so she underwent radiation.Her scans are clean at the moment but her doctor decided that based on previous patients, he would tell her she has two months left to live.Im wondering if anyone knows any long term survivors or how they managed it. I want to give her stories of hope, not statistics based on other people.
