My grandma has scleroderma..?
and I'm really worried about it. She used to be an active grandma playing basketball and tennis with me and my sister and now she is the frail grandma that i would of never though could happen. I'm rele worried. Is there any chance she''l get better. I heard there is no cure for her disease.. thanxs for listening

I have had atelectasis before. Now my siadnosis for the bigger issue may be scleroderma. I am curious if the pulmonary fibrosis symptom would feel like atelectasis.

My nine year old neice had a blood test done recently that showed ANA's. They did a further test that indicates it may be scleroderma. Could someone please explain the accuracy of this " further test" just a blood test she has no symptoms of scleroderma and we just found out she has intestinal dysbiosis. Any relation to the ANAs? Any information would be great. We can't get her into a rheumatologist until late march.Here current ANA is 2.04 Her past positive ANA numbers were 1.3 and 1.1 April 2008 and September 2008 , with a negative one January 2009 Her stain of Scleroderma out of the ANA was 1.9

Scleroderma patients or family members?
Advice please. I was just diagnosed with systemic scleroderma and go back to my doctor Friday. Can you please share your experience with me . What meds have helped you and what are the options . I feel completely hopeless because my primary care doc totally misdiagnosed me and has not been very concerned. My pain management doc made the diagnosis with test and history and is very upset about the breathing ,swallowing and kidney issues I am having in addition to the skin on hands ,face and joints turning rock hard.

Hi I was recently hospitalized for fainting spells. They found out that I have a disease called scleroderma which is causing some connective tissue thingy to affect my lungs which caused fainting spells. I was given some ACE inhibitor thing because the disease started to attack my kidneys. I'm currently on some kid of drug that is supposed to stop connective tissue overgrowth. My doctor says that I am going to be ok but I doubt it. My parents can't give me a definative answer they just keep telling me it's gonna be ok and bullsht like that. I'm 6'1 136 pounds and this disease is slowly killing me. I recently have had severe joint and stomach pain. Can somebody tell me when I'm going to die? My girlfriend also says the same thing that I'm gonna be ok. Basically what an autoimmune disease is I guess. My body is allergic to itself and every1 is saying i'll be ok? Sum1 just tell me when I'm going to die. If i have to live with this I might as well take my dad's pistol and shoot myself. Because this scleroderma thing is horrible.
