My 3 year old has scarlet fever/strep...?
I am so afraid that my 7 month old and myself are going to get it too Anyone know if it would be a good idea or even safe for me to start giving the penicillin to my baby and myself just in case???
It's not scarlet fever, what is it?
I have swollen lymph nodes in the neck, more so on the right side, a recurring fever of 101.6f, loss of appetite, body aches, chills, and a rash contained solely to the naval area. My initial reaction upon research was to declare it scarlet fever, however scarlet fever involves a widespread rash centered around the chest and neck and in creases of joints. This is not the case here.
What happens during scarlet fever and what damage does it do later?
Just reading about Jean Harlow and I find it interesting that part of her death was because she had scarlet fever earlier in life. But she could have lived if medicine had been better in 1937.

Would would a school do if a child got scarlet fever?
I have this random memory of being vaccinated at school because somebody at my school got Scarlet fever. I was vaccinated in the gym. I also remember that the school closed for a day or so after they got the news that the child had it. I do know, it was a life threatening condition, whatever it was.This would have been in Montreal 2001 early 2002, and it was winter.It has been bugging me, because my parents don't remember. Do you think that sounds like an appropriate response to a child getting scarlet fever, or is it too extreme? What else could it have been?Thanks

My friends daughter has it, I looked after her other child who came over to my house to play with my children . My friend thought it was just a bad cold, but she developed a rash few days later and doctor confirmed it was scarlet fever. Strep throat rash? Scarlet fever? HELP!?
Okay i have been tested and im positive for strep throat and last night i broke out in a rash ive learned thats basically the same as scarlet fever that itches on my face hands and feet will this scar, particulary on my face? it just looks like gross acne to me. Any remedies or advice? THANK YOU
