Questions about cancer...retinoblastoma?
We are pretty sure my little sister 4yrs has retinoblastoma, we have compared a photograph of her with the white pupil to several on the internet and they match exactly, we made her an appointment at the opticians explaining the circumstances and they said the best they can fit her in is next week. The photo was took in May, it is now October, does this class as 'being diagnosed early' or is this quite late? What are the statistics about retinoblastoma, what are the chances she'll die? or if she'll lose her eyesight? Thankyou, any more information or personal experiance is really welcome because i'm really worried about her May is the time this specific photo was took off her, but she has a white eye in lots of photos, this is the most obvious though and matches to the other ones. its also the earliest one we can find

Why is retinoblastoma restricted to the eye?
I know that this form of cancer is caused by a mutation in the Rb gene. But isn't it all of our cells contain the same set of genes. Why then, does only the Rb gene in the eye get mutated and develop into cancer?

Sectoral iris heterochromia or retinoblastoma?
My daughter is two weeks old and was born with two different eye opacities. One being a right anterior polar cataract and the other being left sectoral iris heterochromia. I was just wondering if the specialist I saw could have been mistaken and it could actually be retinoblastoma. I am getting a second opinion but I still wanted to find out if anyone has seen or been born with BOTH of these rare eye opacities.

Will retinoblastoma always show on a flash photo?
If several flash pictures are taken and all but one show both eyes as red eyes and only one with one red and one white could this rule out retinoblastoma
My Son Has Retinoblastoma!?
i need advice on retinoblastoma, my 2 month old son has been diagnosed with retinoblastoma, im still in shock and now waiting to hear from the hospital in london where hez radiotherapy is gonna start but i would like as much info as possible from people who have gone through similar situation and really want to know if hez gonna be ok, thanks
