I know that most pandemics happen from disease spread from animal to human. So is it possible and how?
How long do human rabies vaccine bumps last?
About two and a half weeks ago, I received the first vaccine, and the second half a week ago. The first bump started to go away, but after the second injection they are both red, raised, and itchy. How long until these bumps will go away? Should I be concerned?

Okay, this question has been asked before many times , but this is the final time I am asking, so don't skimp on the details. And I am really scared, so I am acting very irrational.My mom tells me not to worry, and gets annoyed when I ask to go to the doctor.So heres the story.I had a small cut between my two fingers. I left it unopen. Later that noon, I touched bedding from a shelter I made for cats. I am almost sure a cat nests in there, but theres a chance of something else. It was newspaper drenched in rainwater. I am worried saliva in a rabid animal was in the water that got into my wound. That was Thursday, I feel no different. I put peroxide on it a day after. I live in a borough of NY.Do you think I need rabies shots? Am I too worried? My mom says I am fine, I trust her. But I would be really relieved if I got pro. advice.I might have forgotten something, so please check regularly.Thanks.
Doctors! Help with rabies!?
Hello , ive asked this question before, in the cats section, but I think I need a doctor's judgement. I had a small cut between my two fingers. I left it open, and later on that day, I checked to see if my outdoor cat's home's bedding was wet, it was with rainwater. I think some might have gotten into my cut, but I didnt squeeze the bedding, and washed my hand after that. I am not entirely sure if a cat goes in there, but I have never seen a racoon ever in my parts New York , and Ive seen plenty of neighborhood cats. I put peroxide on it a day later. Do you think I need shots? I dont believe rabies is rampant in my neighbohood. I feel no different, except I have a headache, though its probably cuz i am hungry and did way too much electronic play today. Please help I am so scared, but my mom, who is a nurse, told me I am fine. I just need to be sure.That was 2 days ago.

you see... at my cousin's house, there was a dog. it was fairly young too. now my little sister had a cut on her hand, though it was healed and more or less scabbed and only a scratch. now, this dog in particular, licked her cut. she said that she quickly rinsed it with soap. I was kinda worried and it's been a week now since she was bitten. would she be infected even though it was just a scratch and already scabbed? should my family make her do check ups? Also, the dog ran away a few days ago so we can't possibly check for the dog if it has rabies.
My 13 year-old brother got bitten by a 2 month old puppy without rabies shot. Should I be worried?
My brother was carrying the dog but then I think it accidentally bit him. The puppy is 2 months old so he couldn't have the anti rabies vaccine yet. The wound is about 2 centimeters long, and it's on the palm. It's not that deep but it punctured the skin. As of now, the puppy isn't showing indications that it is rabid. It's still healthy and playful he's not drooling and being aggressive. My brother got anti tetanus shot the other day and will be getting anti rabies vaccine tomorrow. Will everything be alright?

My friend adopted a greyhound about 4 years ago. Two days ago I was playing with the dog and she licked my finger and i touched her tooth. My finger had a wound that almost healed up completely. I didn't wash my hands. Is there a chance that the dog mIght have rabies? The owner has given her a rabies shot and when he adopted the dog he was told she got her vaccination.
If a cat scratched me but it did not draw any blood, can I still get rabies?
Stray cat scratched me. Didn't draw any blood, though, and there is no wound that i can see.EDIT I also got a rabies vaccine and immuno globulin from a little over a year ago when a dog bit me. Will that protect me?
