I am just been diagnois with pulmonary fibrosis due to mold I am on 5% oxygen use a Vpac at night .?
I am on prednisone 40mg tapering down to 10 mg during this time I adding drug that suppress the immune system also on inhalation therapy on pnednisone on CAT scan of 2 months ago to 2 months later my lung scaring has got somewhat better

Do I have pulmonary fibrosis?
First off, I am on accutane for my acne, have been for 4 months. I smoked marijuana about 2 1 2 months ago for the first time, I had about 3 bong hits and being asthmatic, I know how to inhale and hold so I breathed in a big lung full in all three hits. On the third hit I believe I breathed in ash. I felt a really bad burning sensation in my lungs followed by crazy persistent coughing for a few minutes. The next day I woke up my lungs felt really dry internally, and a bit tight, this feeling has persisted until now and my doctor and another doctor I saw, did general check ups on my lungs and said my lungs seem fine. I didn't have any x ray or CT scans. They ruled out pulmonary embolism and my own doctor said it might be anxiety caused by my accutane.Sometimes it gets worse and I have to work really hard to take a breath. At other times it seems better but I still feel that it's dry and a bit tight.Is it possible that I have pulmonary fibrosis after just one try of marijuana? I heard you need prolonged exposure to substances to get it but I am worried.

my dad is 59 and was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis along side copd and empysema he was a smoke who for 19 years hasnt touched a cigarette however he was exposed to agent orange in vietnam and all of the deadly chemicals from the wtc attacks on 9 11. I read that the life expectancy is 2 4 years. Im the oldest of my brother and sister being 17. my brother just turned 10 and my 2 sisters are 13 and 15. How do I deal with this I really can only cry at the thought of losing my dad especially so early. Please this is terrible.

My sister in law has all three diseases. She has had lupus since 1999, renal failure and pulmonary fibrosis since 2006. She now weighs a small 59 pounds at 36 years old. Everywhere I research and every doctor I ask can not give me an honest answer. All I am told is her " quality of life" speech. I need some answers. How much longer can she expect to live? I had mononucleosis. Maybe six months later, the elderly person I was had been living with when I got mono getting symptoms of what turned out to be pulmonary fibrosis, with reason for getting it not known. Now I'm wondering if I gave her my mono and that caused the pulmonary fibrosis?
