What is intramural hematoma of ascending aorta, pleural effusion etiology?
My mom just had a heart ct scan and her doctor found something. I've been diagnosed with a small pleural effusion on my right lung, r they common? and how worried should I b?
I'm 28 years old, and smoke maybe 10 a day, there is a wheezy noise at the end of outward breath and its been there for about 5 months. The diagnosis is a small effusion on my right lung. Picked up on an XRay. I've not had the results yet of the sputum test. I understand that TB could be a possible cause and I never had the TB immunisation. Should I return too work before the test results. I've also been taking Lansaprazole tablets for acid indigestion for six months, could these be a factor? I" d really appreciate some advice. ThanksAlso I undrerstand that I shouldn't smoke been trying too quit hence I'm down too about 10 a day whereas before was easily 20. Not looking for sympathy, just a professional opinion.
Has anyone had a cat with pleural effusion?
Please help me find some peace. I have recently had my cat put to sleep on 20th feb2012 and i feel i should have give him a chance. I took him to the vets after he lost his appetite and breathing was hard for him. An xray comnfrimed pleural effusion, the vet rang to tell me this whilst he was still sleep with anaesthetic that the best thing would be to let him go as he was advanced and only had 2months max to live. I made a choice to let him go based on what she said and since iv heard they can have treatment etc... but i got a 2nd opinion who said that yes i could have prolonged his life but would have had to make a decision as some stage or he would have suffered. I gave him a good life and I still have his sister but i am very upset. Normally id fight all the way and do what ever i can to treat them and I feel like i should have. Why am I beating myself up? Has anyone been in a similar position?

They found a 3.6x6 cm lesion on my CT say it maybe Pericardial Cyst, or Loculated Pleural Effusion?
I was in for a CT for Post Inguinal Hernia pain. Now they found this, and Hepatomegaly, and 2.2.cm low density lesion by the right inguinal region. And a 2.2 cm right Adnexal cyst. Also want me to get a Chest CT. I am 48 and was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse about 20 years ago. I have been short of breath, tired and I am tall and thin. Walk everyday 50 minutes. Any doctor advice or someone that has had similar? Thanks I forgot to add these important details. This CT aslo showed a 3.6 x 6 cm lesion adjacent to the right cardiac border of fluid density, possible a pericardial cyst or loculated pleural effusion. I have low blood pressure most all the time.
Pleural Effusion 23 M...Will this go away?
Last Friday I was diagnosed with a small right pleural effusion. I am an otherwise healthy, 23 y.o. male. I had a CT scan, chest x rays, ECG, and blood work done, all of which came up negative x rays showed no pleural effusion, normal ECG, and normal blood work including D Dimer test . CT scan showed a small right pleural effusion with atalectasis. I had no prior symptoms such as cough, fever, night sweats, nor suffered from injury. Only some congestion due to allergies pollen . I just woke up with bad pain in the right side of my chest. My CT scan showed no enlarged lymph nodes, pulmonary vessels intact. Went to see a specialist and was told there is not enough fluid for a thoracentesis. Docs are a bit confused as to what could be causing this, but the believed underlying cause is a virus. Will this go away on it's own?Dr. House, where are you? Please help. Thank you.
