My grandad has pancreatitis.?
After 2 weeks of my grandad being sick, he has finally gone to the doctors and has found out it's pancreatitis. He has not been able to keep any food down for ten days and has finally let us take him to hospital. He is 81 and never gets sick or tells anybody if he does. I'm just wondering what the recovery rate is for this type of illness I know it's probably not good. But I need honest opinions. I'm prepared for the worst but everyone else in the family is less excepting of the illness and think he will bout of hospital in a few days but I know he won't be going home for a while if at all...
Could I have been misdiagnosed with pancreatitis?
2 years ago I was admitted to the hospital with acute pancreatitis I was 29 so they thought it was unusual I had such a severe case . The Dr. told me I could never drink again. I stopped for about 3 months but then started up again slowly. For the last year I've pretty much been drinking everyday. I haven't noticed any major health problems. So did I actually have pancreatitis or am I a ticking time bomb?
I had gallstone pancreatitis, I'm having my gallbladder out, will my pancreatitis just disapper?
I've been doing some 'googling' and never really thought it'd be possible to have pancreatitis again. I had a small stone stuck in the pancreatic duct, so I'm hoping that it's not likely this will happen again. they have put a stent in and I'm scheduled to have my gallbladder out this coming Thursday and then the stent out three weeks after. Has anybody had any similar situation? I'm still quite sore from when I had the gallstone pancreatitis attack, it was just awful it's been two weeks though. I'm much better than before but just looking for someone who has gone through the same ordeal....starting to worry it's worse than I thought it was.

I have chronic pancreatitis now foapproxox 10 yrs. I have no job, as im in constant pain. Im very lonely, know?
YES, i was a heavy drinker for about 10yrs. I still find it hard not to. Being allways sober is really boring. I dont go out, even on the odd occasion i get asked. My life's dictated by pain, it's a nightmare. Anybody going through similar problems? Please tell me how to cope, without being a complete hermit, practicaly living in bed, alone
What happened to me that caused pancreatitis?
Back about three years ago I started to develop an intolerance to milk and dairy products. As the years passed, it got worse and I couldn't last a day without pain and diarrhea many times a day. The worst was in December of 2011 when my abdominal pain seemed to get worse and worse every hour after eating. By March after being fatigued and many visits to the ER for various sicknesses, I experienced an egg sized ovarian cyst rupture. After that pain was over, it seemed I could finally eat without pain or bloating. Ever since, I haven't had any major issues.NOTE For two weeks I had acute pancreatitis. Pancreatic and liver enzymes were unusually high. Found out from blood work twice .Colonoscopy, ultrasounds, and CAT scan showed nothing except a lot of air. ALL organs were fine.I never got an answer and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before.ONLY the cyst would explain the bloating and being so sick the past few months, but it doesn't explain why for three years I couldn't eat what I wanted or needed without pain and now I can.
Could I have pancreatitis?
I'm 16 years old and I've been having abdominal pains for a few months now and it's starting to move to my lower back and near my shoulders. I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and he told me to see a gastrologist. She ended up prescribing me 40mg Prilosec Omeprazole to take every day and I've been taking it ever since and the pain hasn't improved at all. She told me they could do a scan if the pain doesn't get better in a few weeks. I might be going back there but I've been doing some research on the internet and I've at first I was thinking it could be pancreatic cancer, but realized that usually happens in older people. Now I've been wondering if I could have pancreatitis. Do you think there's a chance that I have it and how common is it?Also, I've been feeling really tired and weak lately.Plus I forgot to mention that I've been having random itchiness around my body. I've found about a dozen reddish brownish marks on my arms and legs that were about the size of a dime, but they eventually went away but occasionally I'll still get the random itchiness.
My mother has pancreatitis but is not a alcholic drinker will she die? ?
Misdiagnosis or pancreatitis?
About 2 weeks ago my husband felt flu like symptoms for a few days then he said he felt ok for a day or so then started feeling tired, nasea, and started vomiting anytime he tried to eat anything...especially first thing in the morning and he said his stomach also hurt. This went on for about 4 5 days before we finally went to the ER we just assumed it was the flu . We got to the ER and they said he was extremely dehydrated, fluctuating blood pressure, suspected gallstones, and said they were admitting him. But this is where I am concerned.....he was in the hospital for just under 5 days, but the CT scan and ultra sound showed no inflamation of the pancreas or gallstones, endoscopy didn't show any blockages, ulcers, etc. They put him on antibiotic meds, pain meds, fluids, and potassium via iv. His lipase level was 399 at admission, then went up to 799 then 900 then the day before he checked out it went back to 789. Nobody knows what is going on...so he checked himself out after about 5 days. Now I need to know if we need to worry...he currently has been sticking to a very light diet simple sandwiches only about once or twice a day and plenty of gatorade and tollerating fairly well no stomach pain, nasea, or vomiting just diarrhea . He also still seems a little tired and his blood pressure is now only slightly elevated compared to 159 113 in the hospital. Should I worry? Right now we cannot follow up with his regular Dr. because he does not have insurance and neither of us are working right now so cash is very very tight. Please help if anyone knows if we are playing with fire. He is only 31.

How long does it take to recover from acute pancreatitis?
I was in the hospital for a week and they released me because my enzyme levels were going down, I have been maintaining a strict diet and was given meds for pain and acid control. It's been a week now and my stomach is still hurting When will this go away? Rough Estimate. The cause for my pancreatitis is still unknown.
