How to clean ear have otitis media?
i have right ear infection. diagnosed by my doctor that i have otitis media. should i clean my ear first before putting the prescribe eardrop or just put it right away without clearing the fluids?
I have a question about serous otitis media?
So I've been to three different doctors. The first one told me I had a little fluid buildup in my ear and that I needed to take some Pseudophedrine and a steroid nasal spray to clear it up. Then the second doctor told me my left ear was inflamed and bulging, and that he was going to prescribe me some anti biotics to see if that would work. Today I finished my last round of anti biotics and haven't been feeling any better, so I went to the doctor again and this time the doctor said I had a lot of fluid buildup called serous otitis media and that it was completely normal, and he just told me to take pseudophedrine to help clear it up. He basically said that he's seen it last from 2 weeks to 2 and a half months and just to wait it out. He actually told me he wasn't worried about it at all and that it was for sure what my problem was, so I'm feeling a lot better. I've got this pressure inside my ears that just won't go away and it's worse when I get up and move around. But have any of you ever experienced something like this? It has honestly been the worst two weeks of my life and it happened out of nowhere. One day I told my mom my ears were plugged, and she cleaned them and it didn't help at all. So do I really not have anything to worry about? I had a hearing test at my family doctors clinic and passed, they said my hearing was flawless and the most I missed was 10 in some frequencies and that it was normal. Should I not worry about this and just wait it out? He said if I was that worried about it he'd refer me to an ent but he didn't think it was bad enough and that it'd resolve itself.

Can otitis media (ear infection) go without being treated?
cuz.. u kno.. i dont wanna. idunno ..DIE...ik its treated wit narcotics & eardrops but can u go with out it.the pain only lasts for a couple of days, rite?

I've been on 4 days of Amoxicillin with no relief for my middle ear infection. There is so much pus built up in my ear that I can't hear. Called the doctor and she is switching me to Omnicef. Is this a stronger antibiotic and will it work better than Amox? I've never been on it.I've also got a sinus infection. Booo

I have had otitis media for about 5 days now. The doctor said that it is due to a cold that i haveI tried antibiotics, inhalation of hot steamdinking lots of liquidsvitamin cnose spray, inhalerto make me feel better.Does anyone know any other ways to treat it??

Inner ear infection--otitis media?
I went to see the doctor on Wednesday of last week and he looked all around my ear with his otoscope and asked me questions...he then said I had a middle ear infection or otitis media and prescribed me augmentin as well as taking Advil Cold & Sinus three times a day. I'm on day 5 of this medication buffet and I still cannot hear out of my right ear. I'm sure it was the cause of cold that never went away properly, but it's been an off and on thing for a couple of months. I finally went to see the doctor because I had initially thought it may have just been wax buildup even though I never had issues with this before & don't use q tips . So, dummy me, I wait to see the doc. Now I'm on medication because of the diagnoses. Did I just wait so long that it's going to take a while for the fluid to drain? Did I do any permanent damage? Could it be something else? It's not really painful now. Just irritating there's a slight ringing in there and makes me feel pretty out of it, dizzy, and out of balance. So I don't know if the infection is gone and the fluid is just still there. All I know is it's driving me bonkers and I'm hopeful that someone has been through it and can reassure me that there's a light at the end of the tunnel Thanks in advance

its thursday now and not tooo bad pain ,but my hearing is 95 percent gone,,it needs to drain ,,,hospital keeps telling me im fine,,
Otitis Media <gross ear infection>?
I have otitis media which is inflammation in the middle ear. Symptoms are swelling, ear irritation and pain and dizziness. I no longer feel the dizziness, but the pain continues to get worse and worse. I've gone to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics < amoxicilin and nasal spray> but my earache is BAD I bought earache drops that are made of all natural herbs. I havent used it yet. But I did use ear wax drops which i probably shouldn't have used. Anyway.. My mom said I shouldn't have bought them because the doctor didn't tell me to use that. However, I cannot take this pain and irritation It hurts and I can't even hear in my right ear What can I do?
