Could it be narcolepsy ?
Here's what is happening to me.I am sleeping too much like too much during daytime and i get sleepy in the wrong times as in class, while having lunch, while helping mom etc..And sometimes i dream but it feels as half awake and sometimes i hallucinate like a word or two..And I'm always like mostly tired and in a bad moodHelp?thanks

Do I have slight narcolepsy? Chronic fatigue? Low blood sugar? Or is this common in teenagers?
I'm 17 and ever since I was about 14 I've noticed that I've always been tired and I honestly can't think of one day in the past school year, even on the weekends, when I wasn't tired and my brain wasn't foggy. I feel weak and I've also noticed that my heart rate is higher than it used to be even though I get the same amount of exercise. I usually don't have a lot of time to get breakfast so on schooldays I usually only get a glass of orange juice, buttered whole wheat toast, and sometimes an apple. But here's the major problem Everyday school day starting at about 11 and continuing untiil school ends, I get these intense, extreme surges of fatigue where I can't keep my eyes open and if I do they water like crazy and I feel like collapsing into a deep REM sleep. Usually it last for about 5 minutes, then I go back to being normally tired, then 5 minutes later it happens again, but today it happened in much much longer incremements and I have little memory of anything I did or learned today because I was constantly sleepy and closing my eyes. And according to common knowledge, I'm not " sleep deprived" because I get about 7 to 8 hours of sleep every school night. Should I be getting more? What's wrong?

Going for a sleep study test for narcolepsy. Anyone been through one?
I show all the signs of it but what if the test don't??? I had so many symptoms of it and I am worried I will be so nervouse during the test that nothing will come out right ugh. I do have sleep apnea for sure. was tested for that and found it was severe. ugh

What are the symptoms of narcolepsy?

I have narcolepsy but can't sleep at night?
So I recently have been diagnosed with narcolepsy a sleeping disorder And I can fall asleep very quickly in the day time, but when it's time for bed, i just can't fall asleep?I don't know if it's my medicine, or if it's normal. So Why can't I fall asleep at night, but can in the day time?

Insomnia, sleep paralysis, narcolepsy?
I been suffering from sleeping problems going on about 2 years almost 3 now.Seems they have got worse over the years. I get where I am sleeping and my body goes paralyzed and I can't move at all or open my eyes.I have even felt out of body experience and like someone was also suffercating me it feel scary and frieghting .I get tired durign the day a lot.I also notice there are nights where I can't sleep then just finally days later it hits me i get tired.I was wondering is it possible to have insomnia and sleep paralysis and narcolepsy. I had apnea as a baby.

When I don't get enough sleep I have symptoms of narcolepsy?
What could this mean?

Is there any way to get a narcolepsy diagnosis reversed?
I am 19 years old and I was diagnosed with narcolepsy two years ago after showing excessive symptoms, but during the last year they have subsided. When I was diagnosed I had severe depression problems and bad pill addictions and I believe this led to my falling asleep. The doctor diagnosed me through a sleep study and questioning. I was slimly diagnosed as they were borderline symptoms, but he assured the diagnosis would stay with me for life. I was wondering if there was any way I could go back and get it taken off my health records, maybe through a new sleep study and telling the doctor my prior circumstances? Could he just label it as a mis diagnosis?

I was diagnosed last year, I had a doctor tell me that I couldn't work for a company because of narcolepsy.?
isn't that illegal?

Did I faint, have narcolepsy or is it something else?
Yesterday, I was watching T.V. when I suddenly realized I was in bed. My mom told me I slept off for 15 hours... I was also traveling so I had only 2 hours sleep last night. I'm a very slow sleeper, taking at least 20 to 30 minutes to become sleepy. I don't understand this. I'm halfway through to thirteen. This was also my first experience in stuff like this.By last night I meant the night to night before. I'm sorry for my mistake. IMPORTANT Also, It seems I responded to my dad to come to sleep in the room and actually waked there. I have no memory of it.

Chances I have narcolepsy?
I am a 19 YO male and was curious about sleep paralysis because i have been experiencing it somewhat regularly for several years. This led me to read over the symptoms of narcolepsy and they seemed pretty consistently familiar. I have a history of being exhausted during the day, i nod off during class despite pinching myself to stay awake , and can rarely stay awake when watching tv or reading even if I'm sitting in a desk chair. This is frequent at times I'm not trying to nap, and have had 8 10 hours of sleep the night before. Also there have been times I fall asleep taking notes and seem to have continued to take notes in scribble form while asleep. As I said I experience sleep paralysis, and wildly vivid dreams. My roommate has also suggested I have narcolepsy in the past, because there have been times were sitting watching tv together, he goes to the bathroom, comes back and I'm asleep. Wondering if anyone has any insight and if I should go to a sleep doctor, thanks Oh also my mom has never been tested for it, but seems to have similar symptoms, and as my father puts it " sleeps her life away" haha.

Could this be some form of mild Narcolepsy?
So this may be a bit of a long question, but I'd really appreciate some feedback. This time last year, I spent some time in the hospital. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. In the weeks after that, I experienced some odd sleeping patterns. I would sit on the couch, at the table, usually somewhere comfy, and I would fall asleep. Often for extended periods of time. I had no control I didn't plan to take the naps. My parents would try to wake me for dinner or something of the sort and I would have extreme difficulty getting up. I could hear them talking, feel them touching me, but it was like I couldn't tear myself from the sleep. I couldn't really wake myself up. It would not happen in the mornings and these naps were not due to low blood sugars. When I did wake, it was like something kicked in and my eyes would just open. This happened pretty often for a few months after my time in the hospital. It wasn't mid sentence or even at truly inconvenient times, really, but when it did happen it was uncontrollable. I was playing field hockey for maybe the first month before the season ended, so I was often tired. It eventually seemed to go away. It appears whatever this is has resurfaced again, though. Again often when I'm sitting and I am having trouble controlling it. I often get extremely tired early in the day during school, but I assumed this was just regular fatigue, just thought it was worth mentioning that I had fallen asleep briefly in class now as well. Could this just be fatigue? Is it normal? Is there such a thing as a mild form of narcolepsy? I am doing field hockey and that includes much strenuous activity, but I had one of these " naps" today and yesterday, neither days I had practice due to rain. I just got done with all my doctors appointments, all the regulars, so I'd rather not go back. I'd appreciate no answers telling me to ask my doctor. Thank you I get up or try to get up at five a.m. every day for school. This, along with field hockey, made me think it's possible that I am just fatigued? I usually get a decent night's sleep between 6 and 8 hours? I've had some stirring dreams lately but they usually come along with menleaving my tv on. I do struggle to get out o bed in the morning as well, tossing and turning, briefly awakening and then falling asleep, though I am and was positive this was normal due to my schedule. Thinking about the combination of my symptoms and my regular activities, do you really think I should see a doctor? I tend to do a lot of self diagnosis and my mother is beginning to think I am paranoid haha. I just don't want to over react. Thank you very much for your responses, though, I really appreciate it.

I think my friend has Narcolepsy?
She's always telling me of weird " dreams" she has where she swears she sees something in her room and she can nearly " feel it." She claims that sometimes she cannot move and actually has to force herself to move. She's always telling me how she's always getting anywhere between 5 2 hours of sleep a NIGHT and, since last year, the circles around her eyes have become increasing darker. She will also tell me about dreams so vivid she feels as if they were real or if she were watching a mental movie. When she does tell me about these dreams I often have to stop her, because they will be so long and vivid. I've looked up narcolepsy and she doesn't have the " sleep attacks" but she's finding that she's been taking more and more day time naps. She honestly doesn't think anythings wrong with her and claims that she has a " gift" and that she has all of these obscure dreams for a reasonI'm worried for her because she has the dreams where she sees things vividly in her room and swears they were there and cannot move, frequently. AND she gets less than half the sleep she needs to for a teenager. Is this the start of Narcolepsy or something else? If so, what should I do about it? or what should SHE do about it?
