Can someone please help me, my dad has just been diagnosed with multiple myeloma...?Hi all, my dad has been diagnosed with mm a week ago, were not sure what stage hes at but he has 5 6 punched out leisions on each side of his skull none anywhere else , he felt in the past year like he has had broken ribs a couple of times, he has really sore feet that come out with bruises sometimes, hes immune system is really low and he gets a cold every second week and hes been feeling really tired all the time and im really worried, i want to know how long he has left and what we can do and he can eat to help keep a good quality of life? My mom has liver cancer and now something called multiple myeloma?? PLEASE HELP!?
Shes had liver tumors for a while 9 of them ..they cant remove them because it would basically have to be her whole liver.Now she just called me and told me about the bone marrow test..she said she has cancer there called multiple myeloma?? and said they are gonna do chemo therapy in a week for 6 months..and after the 6months they are gonna do a stem cell?? she also said some type of count of the bone marrow is usually 1,000 but hers is 2,000 worse not exactly what count she was talking about ...What is the chances of overcoming this " multiple myeloma?" ..im so devistated and depressed..im flying 2 states away on the 21st to go spend a couple months with her.. just need more information about all this stuff thats going on,how long will she most likely live & whatever else??she also said throughout her bone marrow theres tumors

my friends aunty has a multiple myeloma and would like help with it...she is around 60 years old and her arm broke one day, doctors later revealed it was a MM... she has started chemo recently and is taking 23 tablets a day.. my question is,, should people go to visit her? i recently lost a cusin because her immune system was down because of chemo and she caught a cold and everything went wrong.... she has a lot of relatives ging to visit her every day and i dont want her vatching anything. another question is what are her chances of survival.. shes been on the chemo for 3 days now and has had a good reaction.. she doesnt feel any difference... when can she have stem cell transplant?? will that help her, and how?? ive hears essiac tea can remove tumours??? please help me.. thankyou
Mom is terminally ill with Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer)...devastated?
My mom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma a cancer of the bone marrow 9 months ago and now she's in palliative care. The doctors are saying they can't do anything more for her and that she has a few days, at most a few weeks left. I'm so devastated, I feel like I wish I could die in her place. She has one of the worst " types" of myeloma, a very aggressive type " t 4 14" .I remember reading the prognosis for myeloma when she first got diagnosed... the median is 3 to 5 years. I remember crying when I read that. And now it hasn't even been a year and she's in a comatose state, because of the aggressiveness of the " type" she got. Now 3 to 5 years seems like a heck of a long time...It's almost her birthday and almost Christmas... life is so unfair, I just want to die. She was the BEST mother anyone could ever ask for... all she wanted after all her hard work in raising myself and my brother was to see what happens with us, see our kids, see where we go... and she didn't even get that chance. If anyone has a similar experience or can give me advice, encouragement, anything, please share... I feel so alone. It all happened so fast.To the second poster I've been in the hospital with her day in and day out since her diagnosis 9 months ago. That's where I am right now.
Treatment Of Multiple Myeloma?
After the diagnosis of multiple myeloma. The following result is seen > ISSII and DSSIII.I want to ask what will be the life expectancy of this patient? this patient age is 48and more, i want to know if we do the Autologous stem cell transplant for this patient he will be free from myeloma for rest of the life?I know myeloma is incurable but if this type of patient is diagnosis with myeloma, what will be the result? All the people will be greatfully appreciated for giving the answer as well as best answer.
