Does anyone have any information on mastoiditis?
i would like to know if anyone has heard of it recurring,my son was hospital last year for a week with it..he now has it again,but this time its not as bad and i just have to keep an eye on it.
Has anyone had mastoiditis?
I was diagnosed with mastoiditis yesterday. I had never heard of it before then. I have had pain there for almost 2 weeks, so its been going on at least that long. I read a little online and it said it can be difficult to treat. Has anyone ever had it? Do you remember what medications you took? Did it work and how long did it take to stop hurting? Thanks so much for your help

Hi Thanks in advance for reading my question I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me about mastoiditis. Any information would be awesome Such as, symptoms, treatment, surgery if it's an option how they do it, anything you know about mastoiditis I've had problems with my ears my whole life, I'm 15 at the moment. I've had 7 ear surgeries, minor ones just tubes put in, because my station tubes don't drain properly. The last 3 years I've been having cronic pain in my ears, specifically the left one, the pain is constant all day, it's so unbearable, the pain runs down below my ear right behind my tmj joint. I've been asked it I have any allergies, I don't I was tested last year, because I always sound stuffed up like a person with strong allergies. I always have mucus and stuff that doesn't drain properly in the back of my throat. My ears are always popping as if I was on an airplane... It's really annoying. I've had 2 CT scans of my brain and a fancy brain scan from the orthodontist. My ear nose and throat specialist can't see anything, he's basically given up. My family practitioner is the only one really trying here, I have an MRI scheduled in 3 months. My family physician doesn't know what's wrong either, for the meantime hes given me some tylenol 3's for pain.. they still don't make it go away... He's given me Eluvil, I guess they used to use it as an anti depression but it's not strong enough anymore. My orthodontist said my left mastoid was larger than the other but he wasn't sure if it was mastoiditis or not. My doctor has looked into the mastoiditis thing, apparently mastoids are the synoses in your ears and it would make sense if they werent draining properly...I'm just at a loss here, my doctor took me off t3s and wants me to just try taking benadryl everyday till my MRI... I'm just in so much pain I can't do it.. does this sound like mastoiditis at all?? Please help me
I have mastoiditis. im on antibiotics. ive have severe headache more than 2 weeks now have other symtoms?
i don't know what the next step is my doc said it wasn't a big deal really. i think it is.i don't know what else to do. can mastoiditis be deadly and can it cause you to vomit up blood.
What can happen if mastoiditis isn't treated?
my dad was diagnosed with mastoiditis about 8 mos to a year ago. he had lost the hearing in one ear and he thought it had completely cleared up because the bump went away and he could hear again. i found out on wednesday that he is taking a regimen of ascriptin just to be able to function because he had missed one and he came in an hour later to take it and he was hunched over he popped his back out and he has slipped discs and his eyes were bloodshot and watering. he finally admitted that he thinks the mastoiditis is back because he can't hear anymore out of one ear the same as before and it hurts to even wear a baseball cap anymore he used to wear one everywhere . my mom and i tried to get him to go the doctor but he refuses, i don't think he ever will, but i am really worried about him.what happens if he doesn't get it treated? if it matters, he is almost fifty.

i have been to the er 4 times now and my dr.2 time and this last trip to the ER they did a CT of my ear and found that i have chronic mastoiditis and that means the the bone in and behind my ear is infection so bad that is it making the bones swell when i went to the ER they didn't give me and thing for the pain to take home and it hurts so bad that i cant sleep i cant eat and idk what to do please help
Can mastoiditis recur?
I had mastioditis when I was 8, and I had a operation to remove the disease when I was around 11 12 and another to rebuild it when I was 14 15. I'm now nearly 18, and I'm getting pain behind my ear, and also right inside my ear? I've also been getting dizzy when I move too quickly, or when I've been lying down etc, and I've started to get migrane type headaches over the last few weeks, which I've never got before. All these symptoms are very on off, normally lasting for a few days, and then disappearing again but it's been going on since February, and I'm starting to get a bit concerned that something is wrong, as the pain almost seems familar. Does anyone know whether it can happen again?

i am not sure if i have mastoiditis or not. the lumpy bone that is behind my ear hurts about mid way on my ear . i am not sure if this is where the mastoid is or not. i just know that it is in that general area.it is kinda a stinging pain. i am not sure what type of pain is accompanied with mastoiditis.the reason why i am concerned is because i had a pretty bad ear infection about 3 weeks ago. i took antibiotics and it got better.and then a few days ago my ear started to hurt a little. but i wanted to wait and see if it was nothing.does this sound like mastoiditis? should i wait and see if the pain behind my ear goes away in a day or two or should i go see a dr.?thanks

I'm the perfect candidate for " Mystery Diagnosis." I've been labeled with everything from cluster headaches to trigeminal neuralgia. Now they say I have mastoiditis. Does anyone know about this? Any cures?

Ive Recently Had A CT Scan Done On The Temporal Bones Of My Head... The Conclusion Was Nonspecific Opacification of the middle ear cavities, paticularly involving the attics.There is also opacification of the mastoid aircells.features would be compatible with bilateral otitis media and mastoiditis. it is not possible to exclude other pathology such as cholesteatoma.Can Anyone Help Me OnThis?? I Cant Seem To Find Anything About It Elsewhere..
How quickly does MASTOIDITIS spread?
I was told its from an inner ear infection and i know that was over a month and a half ago i had the ear infection..my question is how fast does mastoiditis spread? i have read all about what can happen but upon my diagnosis they didnt mention how quickly it could spread, so here i am now wondering how fast it goes because they told me i need to see and ENT ears nose and throat specialist and i called around the soonest opening they have is 1 month away i was prescribed antibiotics however they are very costly and i just spent what i had left going to the ER they did give me one dose of antibiotics before i left the ER...i know your wondering how i dont have the money for my health but i get paid every 2 weeks and just got paid and like i said spent it all....and of course no insurance for now. so please i need to know the rate it spreads...thank youSo its known i was prescribed Augmentin..generic is amoxi clav...both are more then 50.00 and i just dont have it for another couple weeks
