Should I be concerned about my marfan syndrome?
I found out I had it at the age of 16, I had tests taken and everything, but I don't have scoliosis, and my limbs are all proportionate. I do have flexible fingers ankles and shoulders though,The doctor said I may have a slightly enlarged aorta, but that it's serious. I also have moderate pectus excavatum, he said it's the weirdest he's ever seen, it's only indented in the lower part of my chest, the top part near my collar bones, is completely normal. I'm only asking this because I haven't really been checked on this since my diagnosis. I am an extreme hypochondriac and I have severe panic disorder, but it's not brought on by heart palpitations, it's brought on by something else I'm not sure of, although while I'm having a panic attack every time my heart pounds and races. Also I have delayed sleep phase syndrome, and sometimes when I'm about to fall asleep I have a quick panic attack due to me thinking I'm not breathing and I pop my eyes open and take a deep breath, and then it's over.. Oh and I'm pretty near sighted, not like a medical problem, I go to my eye doctor annually and everything always checks out. I mean I'm not really educated about this stuff, my specialist didn't seem to concerned.. so should I?

How to get buff when i have marfan syndrome?
I think I have marfan syndrome, but I'm not sure if I want to go get checked out for it.?
I've been reading about marfan's and I realized that I have a lot of the symptoms. One of the main ones is disproportionate body. I'm 15, 6ft 2.5, 6ft 9 arm span, 10.5in hand span thumb to pinky finger , and I wear size 16.5 17 shoes. I have loose joints according to the physical trainer at my high school. I have stretchmarks on my back which is another symptom. I am nearsighted. Also, from my understanding, marfan syndrome is genetic and it runs in the family? My brother is the same way too, just a little smaller than myself and he had pectus excavatum sunken chest which is a more severe symptom. There probably more symptoms that I have that I didn't list but do you think it would be worth going in and getting checked out? Or just a waste of time and money. In addition, I'm on the lacrosse and " olympic style" weightlifting team. How would marfan's affect my ability to play perform? I know weightlifting itself has disadvantages to people who are taller but I want to know if marfan's would have any specific effect. I am more concerned about lacrosse though, so if you know anything about it affecting running or someones ability to play a contact sport, please say so. Should I go to the doctor's and get checked out?
I'm a 17 year old girl. i'm 5'9 and i have scoliosis..does this mean that i have marfan syndrome?
Do I have marfan syndrome?
So I am 5'9 1 2, 22 year old female, I have stretchmarks from growing lower back, inner thighs, hips , I can wrap my pinky and my thumb around my wrist and I can cover my whole pinky fingernail with my thumb, my arm span is two inches taller then my normal height. My leg inseam is 34 maybe 35 inch, and my torso from my shoulders to my crotch is is 24 inches.I think I also have a semi slender long neck... but not freakish. My dads side of the family are all tall. My great grandmother was 6ft 3 and there is a picture of her holding me and my twin sister and we basically fit in her huge hand. My dad isn't that tall maybelike 6'1 or 6'2 but his brother larry is 6'4 or 6'5. My aunts his sisters are both 5'8 which is slightly shorter then me. All of my girl cousins accept my twin sister are 5'8 or taller... and the two boy cousins are well above 6'1. Do you think I have marfans or am I just genetically tall? My twins arm lenght is 1 1 2 inches longer but she is only 5'5 feet tall but she was recently diagnosed with mitral valve proplapsey.

WHAT TO DO? i met a new guy, he has MARFAN SYNDROME, walk away or get more involved?
i recently met a guy on fb through mutual friends. i had seen him before around the university, so i knew who he was when i accepted the friend request, but we had never talked in person. after staying up many nights talking to each other online we finally had our first date. im 26 years old, he is 27, we have so much in common, we are both elementary school teachers, studied at the same university, communicate on the same intellectual level and share the same goals and values in life. we are also both cypriots that have lived abroad so even talking a mixture of both greek and english to each other is a plus. i had so much fun on our date... im not sure if i am that attracted to him yet, but he is a real sweet guy. his kind character and intelligence is very attractive... on our 1st date our only date so far he told me he suffers from marfan syndrome.. he told me a few things about this disease but i didn't really give it all that much thought. today i did some research though and i am rethinking everything. i feel so awful for feeling this way and i dont know what to do. he has made his feelings for me very clear, he is a genuinely good guy and i do not want to hurt him... i really want to have my own family one day, have happy and healthy kids. now i know this statement is wrong because you never know what illnesses may occur but starting a serious relationship with somenone that suffers from such a disease is different. any thoughts would be widely appreciated, i just needed to talk to someone, my family and friends woud definately tell me to walk away to save myself from a difficult life full of struggles and pain... i feel like i should seek some advice elsewhere. if there is any body that suffers from this disease or that is married to a beloved one pls take the time to answer. thankyou...
Question about the diagnosis of Marfan syndrome for a doctor or an actual patient?
don't really bother responding if you're just a person that has read about it on the internet because i've already done that myselfso awhile ago my friends saw a psa about marfan syndrome and they thought that i should look into the disorder because the physical description sounded like mei read a lot about what is needed for a diagnosis but my main problem is that i'm an adolescent and a lot of things that i read said that being younger changes the criteria but none of them said how i know that in order to get a definitive answer i should see a doctor but i think that i might be making a mountain out of a molehill and i was wondering if i actually have enough to go on to even talk to a doctor aboutso when i was reading the symptom list here's what i had that was mentioned long legs in proportion to the rest of my body i actually measured and calculated the ratio but i've forgotten it since however i do remember it was the ratio that counts towards a marfan diagnosis arachnodactyly thin feet and very long toes overall skinny ness nearsightedness but it's not that bad flexibility i've dislocated one of my knees multiple times my teeth used to be overcrowded they're not now because i've had braces no one in my family has ever had marfan syndrome as far as i am aware and i realize that everything i just listed is pretty much a skeletal thing but i've never needed to have a bunch of heart tests so i wouldn't know about any problems thereunless measuring one's blood pressure can be an indicator because i go to an ADD doctor every three months and they always check my blood pressure and it's never been highi feel like i might be overreacting because i'm fairly healthy except for the ADD and knee problems and i don't really want to go to my pediatrician unless i have a good reason to because that could potentially be quite expensive
