Is stage4 kidney failure bad?
Should i be worried i have liver/kidney failure, even though im only 18?
ive been drinkning for about two years or so and have only gone atleast two weeks without drinking. i drink quite a lot and its usualy liquer vodka . now recently ive noticed some things like being tired, and losing my appetite. and just the other day now theres yellow in my eyes. im not sure. but should i be worried.
How long can someone with kidney failure live without dialysis?
My grandfather is going off dialysis today. He only has about a 1 4 of a functioning kidney. He used to go to dialysis 3 times a week, and he's been going for 3 years now. He hasn't been eating or responding to physical therapy after a surgery for a broken hip. How long will he be able to live?

im turning 15 in a month by the way if that helps. well for about two weeks ive had such a pain sneezing,coughing,laughing or working to hard and it give a pain on my one side where your kidneys are also urinating has been painfull....ive had nausea 3 weeks back and when i sit scrunched over my stomach hurts like i feels unconforable and i change my sleeping positions frequently. today i complained to me parents and my dad said it might be a blatter problem or kindey infection failure....ive told them before but its bugging me so much i cant sit the whole 43 minute period without trying not to move. im seeing the doctor tomarrow if i can get a app...but do you think thats what it is?

My dad suffers from a long list of illnesses diabetes, heart disease, has had heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure for which he goes to regular dialysis, and Alzheimer s disease. He is only 65 years old but we believe he has had Alzheimer s for over 5 years now. Lately his Alzheimer s in combination of dialysis has been getting extremely bad and rapidly advancing. He has lost the ability to function on his own for a while now, he is delusional and because of his delusions he falls under a lot of emotional stress to point where he is crying out loud like a baby , has lost most of his common sense, he cannot control his bladder at times, unable to speak properly, restless unless we give him a strong sleeping pill and lately he has been getting episodes of extreme Catatonia where he completely freezes in a specific state for several minutes his eyes open, hands drawn out, this sometimes happens when he is screaming at someone and just pauses like that . It s extremely difficult to bare and cope not just witnessing my father go through this but also witnessing my mother s anxiety being his prime caretaker and family s emotional state over this. As a family we are there for him and we try cope with it but lately it s become a real life nightmare, no one has peace day or night, we can t sleep properly at night because my dad wonders away and screams my mom s name really loud and frightening and is needing constant attention day or night. My poor mother being his prime caregiver is also the recipient to most of his abuses aggression due to his emotional state. One of the main delusional episodes he is suffering from is the belief that my mom had an affair with his cousin and due to this belief he is in a state of constant stress and agitation so he verbally abuses her and tries to attack her. What s worse is that no one can control him and we don t want to use force because he is so fragile. He goes in and out of mood swings. When he is bad, he refuse to take his medications because he thinks its poison he refuses to go the hospital as well. We haven t taken him to a long term care home because at first we thought it was a not a good place for him but after when things got worse, we couldn t due to a long waiting list. I just got off the phone with our healthcare rep. to see if we can take him to a short stay rest pit center for a few days these places are designed for families who have dealt with a lot to rest for a few days by having them take care of the sick person so that my mom and family can have a badly needed break at least for a few days , turns out they don t want to take him, she is making excuses and saying he should see a doctor first and then we will see, blah blah blah. No one wants to take him. If he stops dialysis he will pass away within days but we really don t know what HE wants and we could never make a decision to end his life, I think it would be very hard to live with if we decided this, knowing that we killed our father and whether or not that was the right choice. The quality of his life is definitely very poor but what if he doesn t want to die even if he is going through this? Who are we do decide if he lives or dies? His illnesses has become so bad and we don t know what to do , he is suffering, my mom is suffering and I fear for her own health and my family is suffering. I don t usually post anything on the internet but after getting no help from medical people including kidney societies, Alzheimer s society and his general healthcare workers, we have never felt more helpless hopeless. I have read articles and done research but don t know anymore... its easy for medical staff doctors to suggest stopping dialysis and killing him off like they have but I can never trust their judgment because so many times they don t really care about a senior patient with inclining health, they care more about dealing with a difficult person and freeing up space. Please help
Foods to eat with kidney failure?
i was wondering what foods are appropriate for people with kidney failure. my grandpa was recently diagnosed with it but no one in my family really knows what foods to give him to eat. i was wondering if you guys could provide a list of foods and drinks to consume? im only 16 and i dont really know much about this kind of stuff. some of my grandpas favourite foods are sweet potatoe, bananas, spam, pork, as for drinks he absolutely loves diet pepsi coke. can he still consume these? and a list of foods that he can consume?
Kidney failure as a complication of strep throat?
i don't want to be insensitive, a young boy in my school recently just passed away as a result of strep leading to kidney failure.now this kid is like 13, i know strep isn't like a stroke, it doesn't act so fast that it'll kill you within an hour. i feel like kidney failure itself wouldn't kill you within the hour. to die from kidney failure as a result of complicated strep throat takes longer than a day. am i wrong or right to assume there was plenty of opportunity to prevent strep from complicating so much? there was enough time to take this poor kid to a doctor? to call an ambulance maybe? or do you not notice dying from kidney failure? do you just not notice a serious case of strep throat? i feel like there was a huge amount of irresponsibility in handling this boy's sickness, where were his parents? did they not notice that their son was dying, or did they just not have time to act? i'm pissed. i hate it when irresponsibility and mishandling of conditions leads to the loss of young life. it makes me furious.anyway, my point, how long does it take you to die from a case like this? and is it something that people might not actually notice?
CHF and Acute Kidney Failure?
My father has been living with CHF for the last 12 years. Here recently like Sunday my father went from Saturday night at midnight to Sunday afternoon at 5pm without or little urine. His doctor put him in the hospital to run some test. My mom said something like his Kidney number was 90 and that 30 was normal although I think she has this backwards....I do not know. What exactly is kidney failure? My daddy is my best friend and if we are " at the end" I need to know so I can prepare myself to be strong for my mom. Please help me. I am so confused and nothing I read is easy right now and its really is just more confusing to me.
How Someone with KIDNEY FAILURE feel Like?
I have a lot of vaginal problems. About 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a UTI. I took some medication. I had missed 3 doses but by the time I took the last pill all the symptoms had gone away.3 days later they came back. The fever, frequent urination, burning... it hurts where my kidneys are and I keep having this tight poking feeling right under my breast plates or in my ribs. I also have the same feeling in my back and under my ribs. The vaginal burning used to feel like it was right at the opening but now it feels more internal. I also have a discharge and a odor. Also when I was taking the medicine for the UTI my fever went down. Like I didnt feel warm at all. My neck and my chest felt cold. That happened 2 times while I was taking Sulfamenth Tmp for my UTI.Sometimes I feel sick and nauseated and my stomach burns. I have a off and on fever. I want to go back to the doctor and get a pelvic exam and maybe a ultrasound on my kidneys. What kind of test would I need to get done to find out whats wrong? Or if I have kidney failure?I also have a lot of pelvic pain. Like it feels like im pulling something whenever I stretch. There is also a burning sensation and a poking feeling
