Must i wear contacts for keratoconus?
i have Keratoconus, What can happen if left untreated? someone tell me you must wear contacts or it will be worseCurrently i just wear glasses

Am i doomed to get keratoconus because i've rubbed my eyes a lot when irritated my whole life?
I'm 20.

Do 50% and 80% depths, in corneal ring implants for keratoconus, matter?
If somebody has extreme photo sensitivity due to keratoconus, and a manual implant of the ring of 50 % depth, will it improve if the surgery is redone but with laser implants to 80 %, and cross link in the same surgery? Thanks.

Im 18 and i have keratoconus and im wondering if i can get a surgery or do i have to wait longer?

How bad is my eye condition?i'm diagnosed to have keratoconus,my right eye's astigmatism is 10&4.5 on my left?
doctor said i need to undergo crosslinking and then after a month or three have cornea ring implants. how worse can it get if i don't? the procedure it a bit costly.

Is there any treatment for keratoconus? Can you resolve it by doing any surgery?
I want somebody who is very updated answer this question. There is possibility that i might have keratoconus, so I am wondering if I can fix it in the future by doing a surgery.WIll the insurance covers it?

Stem cells and keratoconus?
how far they are from breakthrough

I want circle lenses, but I have keratoconus?
I REALLY want to buy them, but the problem is that my left eye have the illness. Also, I won't use them all the time, because I have the problem in which I can't see from near and from far in both eyes. But, anyways, will them worsen my situation? Will they fit well in my left eye? Will they bother? What would you recommend?I'll really appreciate your answer Take care

Optometrist/ Ophthalmologist Keratoconus Advice?
Hi.. i'm 22 years old, i started suffering from 24 7 allergies ever since we moved into our new house 6 years ago, and my eyes are always itchy and red, and dry when i wake up, i use to rub my eyes alot until i recently found out i could develop keratoconus from rubbing them. So i've stop, but ever since my allergies, i developed astigmatism, it is not strong and the optometrist who i went to see last october said it hasn't really progressed since 2008 when it was diagnosed by another optometrist. But neither one said anything about keratoconus or that my astigmatism could be caused by it. So i'm scared i might have it and they did'nt bother to examinate my eyes for that.So i decided to see an Ophthalmologist this time, because i can't stand my irritated eyes anymore Sometimes i just cry because it's too much already and i can't even wear eye make up because they get dry and red i know is not eye makeup allergy though . But back to the Ophthalmologist, i went today and he seemed kind of mad with an attitude, i told him i decided to get a second opinion because i've rubbed my eyes for too long and from having perfect vision i now have astigmatism and i'm afraid i've done some kind of damage to my eyes.. But he did'nt seem to care and he quickly checked my eyes and said he didnt see any damage at all.. even though i have light brown yellow spots on the whites of my eyes from my allergies.. I guess he was mad because he thinks i'm those type of people who don't believe in a doctor's first opinion and their years of experience since i had recently seen an optometrist in october but that wasn't the case, i simply wanted to see an ophthalmologist because i understand they focus mostly on eye diseases and further things. But he gave me an attitude and said " there's really nothing i can do for you" and seriously just walked out of the room. I felt disrespected, he only took like 8 mins. What should i do? Should i see an Allergist instead? If i have keratoconus were they obligated to diagnose it? Is it easy to spot or does it need special exams? Thanks in advance

Please help me!!!! Keratoconus eye , blindness, what to think?...?
Hello I am in a dillema...4 years ago i went to the eye doctor and i have ben told that i had a keratoconus eye right eye but i didnt had nothing to worry about....i just needed to use contact lenses to improve my vision instead of my glasses. I did not manage to use the rigid lenses so they gave soft ones, but after 1 year i could no longer bare them on my eyes...5 days ago i went to the hospital to see a eye doctor because on my last eye test something changed a lot...I have now been told that i suffer from KC on both eyes and if i can't bare the " special contact lenses" i will have to do a cornea transplant.I am worried because no one explains nothing to me, all i know i have read in the internet, no one can tell why even with my galsses i can t see properly, why i have constant headaches, i am desperate...At this moment my prescription on glasses is LEFT eye Sphere 3.50 Cylinder 3.50 Axis 131RIGHT eye Sphere 5.50 Cylinder 4.50 Axis 34with glasses on i can see the first2 lines fairly ok but struggle on line 3 outside the room i see quite worst, example if i am driving i can't see the car registration in front of me until we are actually stopped at the traffic lights and even then sometimes i struggle, to see the signs in the road motorway i have to be by there side or i can't see them i would say that i can't see nothing in front of me if is about 2 to 3 meters away from me..Without glasses i can't see not even 1" in front of me, i am not able to function without my glasses at all. Please give me some answers Am i getting blind or already " blind" ? What will happen with this KC?Thank youSue

Is this normal with Keratoconus?
My husband has keratoconus and has been told he needs a cornea transplant on his left eye as soon as it has healed he has a cut on it that was leaking fluid thanks to our 3 year old knocking him . i have been putting his ointment in for him some sort of antibiotic cant remember what as he has taken it to work with him This morning i got quite freaked out as the middle of his eye looked like it had a bright blue cloud over it, my husband insists its ok and would be something to do with his treatment but im not convinced. It was covered by an eyepatch on doctors orders for 3 days last week coming off on friday night and he is back again at the clinic wednesday. My husband has gone to work as he isnt worried at all but I could see what it looks like better than he can both his eyes are badly affected just the 1 a lot worse than the other and its really freaked me out
