How long does it take for acute keratitis to heal?
I have acute keratitis in both of my eyes, which is caused by my contact lenses and there ARE ulcers on my eye. My opthamologist prescribed some anti biotic eyedrops and after a few days, she said I didn't need them anymore and prescribed artificial eyedrops. It's been a week and a half and she said that my cornea is looking better but not completely healed.However, she did not tell me how long I would have to keep wearing glasses and using the artificial tears and when I can start wearing my contact lenses again. Can somebody tell me?

I currently have acanthamoeba keratitis. What treatments have worked for others?
My cornea has become " toxic" from the eye drops being used and I'm in extreme pain. I am just wondering what has worked for others so I can discuss other options with my doctor.
Where can acanthamoeba keratitis live?
I have heard that the amoeba can live on contact lenses, but I'd like to know which other common things they can live on.Thanks
Why do people only get Acanthamoeba keratitis when they wear contacts?
I've heard they can get it if they swim with their contacts in, but not if they don't wear their contacts. Also, do you only get it in the ocean, or can you get it in pools too?
I think I have pink eye/conjunctivitis/keratitis? Perhaps allergic to contacts?
First off, I am a contact lens wearer. About a week ago, I noticed my contacts were becoming very itchy and my eyes would become extremely red. Earlier this week, my eyes started producing a discharge. The worst symptom I noticed was when I woke up three days ago and my left eye was closed shut with dried discharge. I have had pink eye before so I decided to call my doctor immediately. They gave me a prescription of Vigamox, which I have used before, and it started working right away. I took out my contacts and started wearing only my glasses. It has been three days since I started treatment and I haven't had any discharge or redness since. I thought my eyes were clearing up. Tonight, I had a very important event to go to and irresponsibly wore my contacts. I figured I would be good to go for a few hours. Well, tonight when I got in, my eyes started itching and turned red again. I thought I was " invincible" since my contacts had been soaking in solution and that I would only be wearing them for a few hours. I immediately took them out when I got home and now my eyes have calmed back down. I am still using the prescribed solution, which I applied my final dosage for the day after I took out my contacts. What I'm wondering is does this sound like pink eye? I am aware that most of you are not doctors, but I have done some research and feel I am worrying myself. I have read that it could be something called " keratitis," which completely frightens me. My eyes are fine when I take out my contacts, so I'm also wondering could it be that I'm allergic to contacts, but I have worn them for 10 years now. But I'm also thinking that since I put a pair of " infected" lenses in my eye, could it have caused my conjunctivitis to flare back up?Further, if I did have pink eye that was healing and inserted an infected pair of contacts, does this mean I am infected ALL over again, like from the very beginning. Sorry for the length, I have just done research and the excess information is frightening me. Thank you for listening.

Help! I have questions about recent keratitis?
A few weeks ago, my contacts were bothering me so I took them out and saw my eye doctor. He said I had the start of a corneal ulcer, and when I went in a few days later, he said I had no scarring and he couldn't see any inflammation however, a few days later when I received my new glasses with my new prescription, I couldn't even read the bottom line of the reading test. My doctor became extremely concerned and sent me to a specialist the next day, and he gave me Besivance and omnipred and I have another appointment in a few days. At some point my first eye doctor had said it was keratitis, but I feel like the specialist didn't give me much information on what was going on. I don't have any swelling, pain, or sensitivity to light, so the only real symptom is the loss of vision. Does anyone know anything that can put my mind at ease or offer me any information? The glasses that I couldn't see out of with my new prescription now work I can see out of the eye that I couldn't before .

Has Herpetic Keratitis come back???
A year ago i discovered i had right sided herpetic keratitis in my eye i eventualy got rid of it in July this year but still suffer from blurred vision, The past few days the same eye has been realy itchy and sore and keep gettin " sleep" like stuff come out of the eye. Is this a sign of it coming back again?????
