Has anyone with hypothyrodism lost a lot of weight?
i had hyperthyrodism a year ago and gained a ton of weight. now im hypothyroid and i lost a lot of weight and im really skinny again and im really happy with my weight now. is it hard to keep it at this weight? ive been eating better aswell im just really scared that i might gain all that weight back
Is it normal to have hypothyrodism 2 months after quiting paxil making the drug the culprit.?
I took Paxil from 14 to 21 years old low doses to moderate doses 20mgs . I weaned off very very slowly in 4 5 months and got no withdrawl effects. But after a month and half I went for a blood test and the docters say my thyroid was a little low and that was the reason I was tired and weak. However I think TSH t3 T4 will be messed up if something else is messed up in the body such as adrenal glands and serotonin levels, anti deppressants mess with the thyroid in many ways ,and the body takes many months to recover after quiting. I am 24 years old amd have been taking synthroid for 3 years and wonder if I really need the drug . By taking synthroid it is telling my glands not to produce thyroxine anymore thus making me dependent on the drug. Should I slowly stop synthroid and see if I am really hypothyroid. We all know It's extremely rare for a male in there early 20 s to have hypothyrodism . Also a sendentary lifestyle can cause hypothyrodism and I had that when quiting paxil. Is it possible that I still have hypothyrodism evn thought i went for a bloodtest 3 months ago and my TSh is fine .
I am on birth control & medicine for my hypothyrodism and my period is late? Help?!?!?!?
Like I stated I am on birth control....for 3 months now and I normally start my period on the monday or tuesday of the last row pills....its now wednesday and nothing. I just recently started taking medication for my hypothyroidism is that a factor? If so what should I do. I need to be on both medications. Please help me out

What is the chemical composition of the pharmaceutical drug synthroid used to treat hypothyrodism?
Is it basically the same as iodine? I've heard that rubbing iodine into the skin will have the same effect as the drug. Is that true? Has anyone actually done this with good results?

I went to the gynecologist the last time this happened I bleed for two months . They did a pelvic sonogram said nothing was found. The gynecologist said it was probably due to me being overweight. A lot of overweight family members and friends say this has never happened to them. I am on 200mcg of synthroid. A month ago my TSH was in the 20's. This is where it was when I was initially tested over a year ago, then I was put on 125mcg and it dropped my TSh was in the low teens.Thanks for any info,

Could it be hypothyrodism?
In the last couple of months I seem to be getting the shakes alot, even if it's not the least bit cold, I freeze and start to shake, even with about 3 blankets on me. I looked up what it could be an alot of people said hypothyroidism, I googled it and found some of the symptoms and a lot of them seemed to fit. I'm sixteen and I used to be able to stay up til around 12 atleast, every single night, now, I'm on holidays and can't seem to keep myself up past 9. I always feel weak when I'm trying to do something thats not just sitting on the computer, sometimes even them, I'm not fat but for the amount of exercise I do, i'm definitely not skinny. that one may just be me hoping it's a symptom but honestly I think it's true. and there may be more but I'm not sure whats really.. normal for most people. So yes, i was just wondering if it's possible.
