I'm 42 and having hyperthyroidism is that there is any remedy for it i'm having my medicatons is that enough?
How do I explain to my parents that I can't sleep because I have hyperthyroidism?
They think that I don't sleep because it's my choice. I've been suffering from insomnia for YEARS. They always thought that it's because I choose to be insomniac which is a little insensitive. My doctor prescribed me with trazodone to help me sleep but it just doesn't work. They are aware that I have hyperthyroidism by the way and I'm just waiting for my next doctor's appointment for further tests So anyway, back to my question, do I tell them that they're being insensitive? They just don't understand that my brain just won't shut off.
Question about hyperthyroidism?and heart palpatations..?
Sometimes when i go from a run to a walk and i try to talk my heart feels like it does an extra beat... maybe 1 or 2. or sometimes just like 1 or 2 beats feel weird.. also when i was playing basket ball i was jumping around and talking and i noticed my heart do like 4 or 5 weird beats stop for a but then do a lil more.. it only lasted 30 or 40 seconds of going from weird beats to normal.. after that i went and ran and did pull ups i didnt have any of those weird beats.. ive been to the heart doctore less than a year ago and he did an echocardiogram and an ekg everything was normal.. i read something about hyperthyroidism and one of the symtomps was palpatations.. what i have. should i be worried about that? or if the heart doctor said those beats are gonna happen to you some people feel them some dont then i should just forget about it and go on with my life?im 20 years old and ive alwys been athletic.but i have been stressed this past week... please answer i will read all your comments. thank youAlso i have had a thyroid test like 4 years ago it was normal
I have mostly symptoms of hyperthyroidism but was diagnosed with hypo. This is confusing!?
I have been tested for Hashimoto's and other autoimmune diseases regarding my thyroid. However, my levels are all over the place. T3 too low, T4 too high, TSH normal. I have been diagnosed as having hypothyroidism. I get hungry often and am extremely slender. 5'2 and 103lbs. I have anxiety that i am on a small dose of zoloft for. My mom has fibromyalgia and thinks I may as well, as I am chronically fatigued. My appetite is always changing and I have lost about 5 7 pounds in the last 3 or 4 months. I have frequent cole and heavy night sweats, but I wake up soaked and am freezing. Always sensitive to cold. I am borderline hypoglycemic as well. My metabolism seems to be working like hypERthyroidism, however the label I have been given is hypo. I've gotten epi scleritis in the same eye at the same time this year and last year, indicative of an autoimmune disease. After the second round of episcleritis I was ordered a workup and everything came back normal, no diseases. I find it strange that I've had all these symptoms yet no diagnosis further than hypothyroidism. Is this normal? There were also two small nodules found on my thyroid gland but have disappeared in the past 5 months.
How can I treat hyperthyroidism naturally?
Yes, I've been diagnosed. Forgot about it, just didn't start caring until my mood swings started affecting my relationship.Figures that they didnt tell me I could go into coma lol I'm always having little episodes where I think I'll faint, but I remembered that I felt my greatest when taking extra virgin coconut oil.. maybe I should try that again.
I wanted to know if having a hyperthyroidism problem causes minor headaches?
I have hyperthyroidism and sometimes when i wake up i have minor headaches. They last between 5 to 10 minutes but i get them frequently. I've tried to look it up online but i feel i get the run around. I try not to take anything for the headaches because i don't want to my body to get use to taking them making the pain reliever not work. I also don't have any health insurance because i work somewhere new. So my question is does hyperthyroidism cause headaches and how is there anything over the counter that i can take to slow my problem down or even make it better?

Exercise and hyperthyroidism?
I was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and have not started the treatment. I am a 19 year old female weighing 110 pounds and 4' 11" . My heartbeat at rest is around 95 105. A while ago I was riding my bike to the grocery store but I had to come back because I was really out of breath. When I reached home, I felt like my heart was just going to come out of my chest and I felt like crying but couldn't.Some other symptoms I had were extreme shortness of breath like I couldn't breath shaking hands tingling in the arms, hand and legs like needles where poking me I am currently studying to become a nurse, so I tried to count my heart rate but the heartbeat was too fast for me to count and it was very weak. After I had rested, I took my blood pressure with am automatic BP cuff and it was 122 70 and my heartbeat was 119. Its been around 30 minutes now and my hands are still shaking but the heart beat has gone down to 99.I am going to go see a doctor tomorrow but I wanted to know if this has happened to anyone before and how they dealt with it. ThanksNow, I just got of of bed and my chest is hurting on the left side.
Is there a difference between hyperthyroidism and thyrotoxicosis?
If I'm diagnosed with hyperthyroidism should I avoid supplements with iodine?
Should I avoid sport supplements sport drinks, protein shakes that contain iodine??
Does having hyperthyroidism make you have sudden mood swings?
Okay I went to the doctor a few days ago. I told him what was wrong with me and he said my symptoms seem to be that I might have a high amount of thyroid hyperthyroidism . Sometimes I feel so mad. I can't control it, it gets me in trouble. I can't explain it. Which I'm just saying that but my other symptoms are others such as fatigue, lots lots of sudden tiredness, weakness all over, depression, acne, dry skin, etc. Hypothyroidism I meant
Could this be hyperthyroidism? Help?
I'm a 15 year old female and lately I've been having the most awful, depressive manic mood swings. I have a distinct lack of concentration, especially at school where I was a formerly excellent student, and I can barely control my thoughts to the point that it's terrifying and I never know what I'm going to do next. My hands are always trembling, my heart is usually racing and, although I'm quite fit and definitely not overweight, I am constantly short of breath walking places something I often notice in comparison to my friends . I haven't lost much weight specifically, but I'm of very low weight about 95lbs give or take a little for my 5'2" height, despite having a sometimes ravenous appetite although I haven't had much appetite lately . I barely ever sleep well, and I constantly feel exhausted. Another thing that stands out I'm either boiling hot or freezing cold, never inbetween. The reason I post this is because I have been seeing a therapist for about a year after being diagnosed as depressed, although there is no apparent cause for my depression and now I'm beginning to wonder if something more sinister is going on, especially as my mood swings have gotten worse. My parents are planning on putting me on antidepressants, but I'm not keen. Then I read about hyperthyroidism, and I'm wondering if I should go and get tested, just in case. Any ideas? Thanks to answerer ?, that's really helpful, but unfortunately I'm the UK.
