Regarding hydronephrosis?
hi i need some details hydronephrosis...i hereby tell my friend report.. moderate hydronephrosis in all 3 major calcius pelvis grossly dilated in left kidney impression left gross hydronephrosis causing cortical compression puj obsession calcius.cortical compression imaged. calcius in the pu junction 7mm size.. kindly tell me whether operation is required for this report or only medications is enough.. plese reply me
Does anyone have any experience dealing with severe fetal hydronephrosis?
I am 22 weeks pregnant and our baby has been diagnoses with severe hydronephrisis which has destroyed a portion of her left kidney. The doctors have indicated that she will require surgery after birth to remove the dead kidney tissue. How terrified should I be? What is the follow up care after birth? Is there any reason to anticipate pre term labour? How long does it take hydronephrosis to develop i.e. is the other kidney in potential danger before birth? ? Many Thanks

The doctors say he may need a shunt when he is born and may possibly loose a kidney since it is only getting worse, but instead of them delivering him early to help they are not doing a thing his kidneys have dialated really bad.. would you pressure doctor to deliver early and do what they can for him now or just wait it out.. Will my son be denied health insurance through my husband's company because of pre-existing hydronephrosis?
He was born with the condition and has to undergo observation every 3 months, he is on medicaid now but once he turns 1 he will lose that coverage. Thankfully my husband can enroll in insurance thru his job around that time. I know the health care reform was supposed to take care of this issue but i have heard the insurance companies are fighting against new policies until 2014. my son cant wait that long, so i am trying to find out what to do before the last minute. does anyone out there know if he'll be denied since his treatment is observation only and if he is what my options are? thanks.

I'm a 30 yr old male, kidney stone in 2000 and again in 2007. Both times on my right side, visited the ER and eventually passed the stones. 6 months ago I was in pain, went to see a urologist for the first time. They did some x rays and a CT scan. No stones, but the DR pointed out that the ureter? on my right side takes a funny kind of curve and is dilated...went on to say that there may be scarring there from the previous 2 stones.Long story short, they diagnosed me with hydronephrosis. I didn't go back, but it's hurting again to the point where I'm going to have to go. Last time they gave me Flomax, I've taken it here and there when really in pain, it does ease the pressure after a day or so. And I usually take quite a few extra strength tylenol for pain.I am worried that they're going to recommend something crazy. Personally, I'd rather take the flomax. Can I tell them this? I'm already worried because i'm going to have to ask for something for the pain, and I dont want to seem like a druggie. Anyone else out there dealing with this crap?
Anyone has a child who has hydronephrosis?
Hi,My baby girl is now 4 months old...she has been diagnosed with hydronephrosis of the left side kidney.Its mild but I'm still concerned about it as she is my first and it took us 5 years to conceive her.Does anyone have a child with it and what happens next? Any stories or experiences to share?I know she will need to have ultrasounds to keep an eye on it,but that is all i know.Thank you for your answers and kind words you helped alot.
8wks into 2nd pregnancy, 1/2 a functioning kidney & hydronephrosis of other. How will surgery affect baby now?
Husband's first baby... The " good" kidney is full of stones and the " dead" kidney with the hydronephrosis is huge and pushing on the diaphram. Kidney function is ok so far. There is alot of pain. The Dr. would like to try to wait until 12 wks and then remove the bad kidney, but the massive size of the kidney is extremely worrisome. How will surgery affect the baby at this stage 8 wks ?? I know it isn't optimal, but if the baby survives, what are the potential effects of anesthesia, medications??? Everything I read sounds bad for the baby. Can someone please shed some light? Thoughts? Suggestions? I would be very grateful for any input.There is an appointment with the nephrologist today, saw the OB GYN on Friday. He was the one who said the kidney just needs to be removed, and suggested trying to wait until the 12th week. We'll know more today of course, I'm just SO nervous. I'll post once the nephrologist makes his assessment. Thank you
An ultrasound in 21 weeks 2 days revealed moderate bilateral hydronephrosis left 9mm and right 6.4mm plsadvise
sonographer advised us for a rescan in 26 th week and 34 th week if persists
