How do I cope with my hiatus hernia?
I have been suffering from gastritis and a hiatal hernia with reflux for some time. The pain keeps coming back and its very bad. I can get relief for a day then the next its very bad with reflux and a feeling as though something is stuck in my oeophaghus. I have trouble eating and a lot of pain. The pain can keep me awake and its about every other day. I have had a ph test to see if acid is coming up. My medicines don't work and I have ended up taking Tramodol most nights to get to sleep. I still can't sleep and it disrupts my life greatly. I don't know what to do apart from cry. Im so miserable. Do you think I will get surgery? I don't know what will happen if I don't as I can,t keep putting up with this.
How can avoid surgery in hiatus hernia , or if it is unavoidable how time it will take to complete cure in sur?

the thing i have been suffering from constant nausea for more than a year nothing worked out for me. for few months i had acid reflux symptoms too but alll of them is gone now only constant nausea is like the pain in the a for over a year now.....after all i got my endoscopy done and this is the report.....my question is tell me if i have hiatus hernia or not. here goes my endoscopy report....ESPHAGUS GEJ lax located at 40cms, Z line at 37 cms, mucosa normal throughout, gastric folds prolapsing into esophagus.STOMACH normal mucosa, no ulcer, growth, erosions normal distensibility fundus normalDUODENUM D1 no deformity ulcer D2 normal mucosal foldsmy concern is to know what is causing me constant nausea and how to cure it and is it currable with medicine or i have to undergo a surgery?and best answer gets full marks i wont divide the number into other members......thanx in advancethnx for the reply guys......WAZIR i want to know something that you had this disease or not?and if yes than how did you overcame with this problem and your problem got cured or the symptoms?plz provide detail.....

Could I possibly have a hiatus hernia?
For the past 3 months, I have had nothing but pain in my stomach. I belch a lot when I never ever used to belch this much at all, I'm gassy a lot now which is really embarrassing, my chest feels like its expanding with a lot of pain each time I eat anything, I feel warm sensations behind my chest and around my ribs. I get sharp random pains in my chest and I feel like right under the top of my rib cage is hardened. I'm in a lot of pain at night when I sleep on my stomach, and in one week, i weighed myself and gained ten pound somehow in a week I am athlete and even though I havenet been excersising a lot since I graduated high school and used to be on the swim team, I know for a fact something is wrong. I feel like there is a lot of fluid in my stomach that doesnt belong there and I just want to figure out whats going on because I can't even eat without pain two minutes later along with bloating and gas and burps. I constantly feel nausious, but I force it down so as not to bring anything up. I have been eating normally like I have always been my whole life, I'm not overweight, and I work regularyly at two jobs and go to class, so I know I'm getting quite a bit of excersise. I want to stop eating to stop the pain, but sometimes the bloating and pain lasts for days. Another thing you all should know is that I had a surgery 4 months ago and they discovered I have a hernia, but they fixed it, but now it could possibly be infected and I have to do another one to fix it up. Any information would help, thank you Does anyone have any idea? Is is a possibly hiatus hernia?

I have had it for just under 3 years, but was only diagnosed last month. I have severe heart burn and occasionally get chest pain I know that it is one of the symptoms . My doctor said that it is really bad for someone of my age to have one.

I have a hiatus hernia, a sliding one and as I know you can get acid reflux. I get a lot of pain too. However my medication doesnt seem to help much. I have a book about digestive problems where the author says that they heal. I thought only surgery would correct them so I wonder if the stomach can improve? I hope so or is surgery the only answer?

Hi there, ive recently discovered that i have a small hiatus hernia, i am 20 years old and i smoke and drink. most things ive seen have said to stop both drinking and smoking full stop, but at the age of 20 when im out clubbing every week this doesn't seem like an easy option at all i was wondering if anyone knows any ways of managing or even curing the hernia? Hiatus hernia, feels as if food is stuck in chest - what to do?
Hi, I was diagnosed with a small hiatus hernia about 2 years after having trouble swallowing. I went back to the doctor a few weeks ago because food feels as if it's stuck sometimes, I was immediately booked for a endoscopy and nothing showed except my hernia and again it was described as small. Still food feels stuck, I chew well, sit down after my meals, but at night time if food is stuck I feel I could nearly bring on a panic attack as my chest gets tighter. What else should I be doing to help the discomfort and I would love to hear from anyone else who has this and I also need someone to say I shouldn't be panicking and that this is normal for a hernia I hope Thanks anyone

Can someone go to Gym if he has Hiatus Hernia that is causing GERD? What exercise and yoga that someone should and should not do if having hiatus hernia?I have heard people have reduced their small hiatus hernia by yoga. Is it true? Can someone really do that or surgery is the only option.
