I have a herniated disc in my neck.?
I fell pretty hard a year ago on my shoulder and herd a pop in my back but I had no pain or anything. The last few days my neck has been feeling a little stiff so my moms boyfriend felt it and he said there was a disc out in my neck. I have no pain, numbness, or any real discomfort just the feeling that something is a little off. Should I go see a doctor? I don't have much money so it would be pushing it but at the same time im a little paranoid and thoughts of paralysis keep running through my head.
Can I request to have fusion surgery to remove the herniated discs in my neck and definitely have it done?
I have 3 herniated discs in my neck that are pressing in the cord causing me a lot of issues. I have tried everything from injections to acupuncture and everything in between to relieve the extremity pain and headaches that they have been causing for over a year now and nothing has helped, In fact the injections have made the pain and symptoms worse. I am petrified of having surgery especially surgery that involves the neck and spinal cord but I am finally at my wits end with all the pain and problems the discs are causing and now it is at the point that I actually want to have the surgery to have the problem discs removed.I know exactly what is involved in the surgery and all the risks that come with it, I am in so much daily pain that I could care less about the risks I just want the discs removed so I can begin the road to recovery. I saw a neurosurgeon in the past year to see what could be done and despite saying that if the herniated discs were removed from my neck that there is a 98 % chance all the pain and problems I am experiencing would be resolved she refused to operate on me because she said that someone my age should not have the surgery under pretty much any circumstances, and that I can just manage your pain with daily Motrin and narcotic medication for breakthrough pain. that was almost 11 months ago and since then the pain and symptoms have got much worse. I now have an appointment with a new neurosurgeon but from the same office to see what he says about having the effected discs removed. I am in so much constant pain and nothing I have done has helped, even my pain doctor that is at the same hospital as the said having them taken out is my best option since nothing has worked but since he isn't the neurosurgeon he can't tell them to perform the surgery he can only give his suggestions. If the new neurosurgeon says the same thing that the last one I saw said that he does not want to remove the discs and he wants me to go back to the route of injections or other treatments that did not work and only made things worse can I tell him that I want to have the discs removed no matter what and have the surgery? I am at the point that I am prescribed 1 100mg MS Contin pill every 12 hours to treat the constant pain and headaches and 1 30mg Oxycodone pill every 4 hours to help with the breakthrough pain and they are not even coming close to helping to ease it much at all. the only thing the medication is doing for me is making it so messed up that I don't feel like crying from the pain constantly and not actually taking it away so needless to say add wanting to be able to stop taking the pointless pain medication to the list of why I want to have surgery. I know that neurosurgeons do not like to perform such a life changing surgery like a multilevel cervical spine fusion on someone my age I am only 29 but nothing I have done to try to help has given me even one ounce of help and relief. I have finally reached the point that I can't deal with the pain and loss of strength in my arms and hands anymore and I actually want to have major surgery so I can finally have no more pain, One would think that when a patient reaches this point that the surgeon would honor their request to try to fix the problem since all else has failed. I just want this issue fixed once and for all so I can move on with my life and get back to work as soon as medically possible. The severe pain I am talking about that the discs in my neck is causing is severe headaches, searing pain, tingling, numbness that shoots down through my shoulders through my arms and into my hands and fingers. I am also having extreme weakness in my arms and hands. I know all this pain is being cause by the herniated discs pressing on my spine and that it will be fixed if the discs are removed and my neck is fused. I have been told by many doctors including my pain specialist. What I want to know is if I tell the new doctor that after trying literally every option and procedure except surgery nothing has worked that I am at the point that the pain is getting so unbearable that even if he does not want to do operate I WANT to have the fusion surgery does he have to honor my request or can he still say no and make me live with this pain. every doctor up until now has told me to keep on trying the injections and nerve blocks and see if even though the past 2 times didn't work to see
Is it safe to take oxycodone and hydrocodone together to relieve pain due to herniated discs and slipped discs?
I have two herniated discs and a slipped disc in my lower back, and I am on oxycodone 10 325 mg 6 times a day. It does not relieve all my pain, and I've already tried injections in my back and had no relief. I also already have had surgery on my back and still no relief. A friend of mine said he gets presribed 6 Hydrocodone 10 500 mg and 6 oxycodone 5 325 mg a day for the same problem. So I was wondering if it would be safe to take oxycodone 10 325 mg with hydrocodone 7.5 325 mg? I just want to be sure before I ask my Dr. on Friday.
How to heal a herniated disc?
My mom has been having lots of back pain in her lower back. Her physical therapist told her to do stretches where she bends backwards. So far nothing has been working. What are some ways to help her back pain, and heal the herniated disc? Thanks
I think i have a herniated disc?
In my lower back i have had problems over the last year. Well been to chiropractors over the last 3 years but nothing too major until this year. Anyways in my lower right back i have pain all day everyday and causes pain to shoot through the top of my right leg and side of the leg sometimes. Today in school i almost couldn't take it anymore and about had to leave early thats how bad the pain was. I also have trouble sleeping because of the pain shooting through my leg. I have been to the chiropractor enough and done waisting my money there. In fact just got back from one and already have pain shooting through my leg as I'm writing this. I'm thinking about going to the doctors tomorrow to get painkillers even though i didint want to but i had enough of this pain. All day everyday it feels like someone is stabbing the insides of my leg nonstop. I just can't take it anymore. Also it just really depresses me that I'm only 18 with this problem and probably screwed for any kind of physical job. I work in a grocery store and stalk milk crates and push carts. Then at the end of night my bottom of back hurts then i start to limp really bad. And ik it sounds pathetic but its the truth. Anyways any guidance for me would be highly appreciated on what i should do. Thanks.

Can a bulging disc become a herniated disc?
An MRI from last year showed a bulging disc in my lower back. I was told to take it easy, not lift heavy things and to exercise to strengthen my muscles. I am now experiencing pain not only down my lower back but to the right side. As I sit down it hurt quite a lot, as if something is out of place when I sit. Could it be that the bulging disc ruptured?
Do i have a herniated disc? PLEASE HELP?
for 3 weeks, my lower back has been hurting. It hurts to cough, slump over and twist, arc my back backwards, run, jump, bend over, and to just twist side to side. the pain can range from mild to pretty bad depending on what the activity or how far i'm turning. It doesn't hurt to touch at all, and i am just wondering if this is a herniated disc or a pulled muscle. Here's the thing the pain isn't coming from the spine, its coming from the side of it but still pretty close to the spinal cord. That's why i think it may be a pulled muscle?should i go to the doctor? any help is very very much appreciated.
I had herniated disc surgery awhile back and since then i've been experiencing some rectal numbness.?
Im not sure if this is normal or did the doctor screw up something.................
Herniated disc in neck - dangerous?
I went to the doctor recently, and she told me I have a herniated disc in my neck C5, I think. She discovered it on an x ray I was having for an unrelated health problem, and was in a huge hurry, so I didn't have a chance to ask many questions. I'm really nervous is this condition dangerous? I know on the lower back it can be very painful, but I'm more worried about the disc putting pressure on the nerves to my heart and lungs.I don't have any neck pain right now, and she said there was just enough room for CSF to flow around it, so she told me I don't need to do anything about it today. Should I be worried for the future? I'm only 21, and I don't know what could have caused this. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm nervous that this could kill me if it inflames more and cuts off my breathing or circulation. Can anyone offer some insight?

Herniated disc in lower back?
About a month ago I woke up with really severe lower back pain. It seemed to come with no cause and went away after I took some over the counter pain pills for a few days. I stopped taking them and felt fine, with just the occasional annoying dull ache when I sat or stood for too long. Just today I was sitting on the floor and I stood up a little fast to check something outside. All of a sudden I felt this horrible stabbing pain in my lower back and I couldn't even sit. I had to stand straight and limp to the kitchen to get some painkillers. It was so bad I actually started crying and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I haven't done any strenuous activity other than than standing up like that, though I do that all the time without hurting myself. I also have no known illness. This was just something completely random. Now I can barley bend over unless I want to be in serious pain, and I can't lie down on my side or stomach. When I do lie down, it's a pain to get up. If I didn't take any pain killers I'd probably be on the floor right now. Any idea what this could be? I've looked online and I think it is a herniated disc, but I wanted to be sure and see if anyone else has experienced this. Is random back pain like this normal? Thanks in advance.
