What should someone eat when they have gout?
My husband has gout. He's not an alcoholic he got it from his water pills. I have been trying to help him with the pain but it's not working and he's seeing a doctor on Monday. So here is what I need to know what can he eat? For the last few days I've turned him into a rabbit by feeding him salads with no fat, salt or anything else that might cause him pain. He's been snapping at our cats. I don't know if that's frm them being able to eat meat and he can't. I heard that he can't have red meat, bacon, fish and shrimp. Everything he loves is on that list. I don't think he wants to eat chicken for the rest of his life. I don't want to hear him clucking a week into this new diet. HELP

i been told by doctors i have slight gout,last few days my left wrist and elbow been aching and numb,bit worried that its some think different from gout being in my left arm,hope some 1 out there who suffer from gout can put my mind at rest that its only gout its like a numb feeling in elbow and wrist

Did I injure my toe by walking on it during gout/podagra attack?
A while back I had an episode of pain and swelling in my big toe that I have determined to most likely be gout. All the symptoms match, although the cause is not clear. I do not fit the usual gout victim profile. It came on suddenly and for about 2.5 days my toe continued to swell and the motion in the joint diminished until I couldn't move it up or down even if I forced it. But a person has to walk, so I walked on it during that time. On the third day, the swelling went down, pain subsided, and motion returned. It was only afterwards that I traced the symptoms to gout and learned that the pain from gout is caused by uric acid crystals in the joint. There has been slight pain ever since, at least 6 months now, maybe more and even a little swelling if I walk a long distance.Did I injure my toe joint by walking on it? Did the friction of the crystals tear things up in there or something? Or is this still an ongoing attack of gout??Or does anyone have an alternate explanation?

my dad have been suffering for gout for quite a long time but its acting up quite often now. he also have high blood pressure. he cannot eat seafood, food containing nuts, beans etc. i heard alkaline water is good for curing gout. if anyone knw any best way besides going to theclinic, i want to know more. i need reliable infocos this is about health. thank u

I'm only 16 but my doctor said I had high uloric acid that could lead to gout. He said to drink lots of water but I didn't. Now today my fingers feel a little stiff and there's this acid burning sensation, also there's some tingling felling too. Help

I am a young teenage girl. I believe I have gout because about every 2 months I will have random pain in my big toe. My toe swells up and it feels broken and it looks red. Can stress or something mental cause your gout to flare up. I swear anytime I'm about to do something important my foot will swell up. My gout started when I was in the military. My first airborne jump was my first gout flare up. First days of going to college, gout flare up. Beginning a new workout program, gout flare up. 10 mile pt run, gout flare up. Today I have a job interview, after months of unemployment, I wake up with a gout flare up. Its a Fedex job so definitely need to show that I'm physically capable. Either I have really bad timings with the gout or the gout is more of a mental thing then actual gout. I don't have these flare ups all the time. Matter of fact they are pretty rare. Yea and I know just get medication, watch what you eat, I already know and that isn't the purpose of the post. Just whenever I really need to be an able body, my foot decides its time to flare up. Is it coincidence?
How does diet affect gout?
I heard that beans, lentils and mushrooms are bad for gout but i am vegetarian and they are an important part of my diet, what foods are beneficial to preventing attacks, i am in agony but don't want to take pills?.

TRUE OR FALSE Deposition of crystalline uric acid in the joints results in gout. please provide source reasoning. This might be a trick question because gout is due to uric acid but isn't it due to uric acid in the blood and not joint? or is both? thank
