Has anyone had cataract surgery to treat glaucoma?
Would my narrow angle glaucoma improve if I have cataract surgery?

Had glaucoma but it's cured, are protein powders dangerous?
I'm wanting to work out and get a little bigger, so of course I'd set my sights on protein supplements. Problem is, I had glaucoma as a child. It's cured and gone now, but at one of my checkups years ago I continue to visit my doctor yearly just to be sure , he mentioned something like protein powders not being a good idea. What gets me is I can't really remember what he said specifically. I can't find anything anywhere about protein powders or ingredients to them being related to glaucoma, so I'm wondering what my doctor might've said. Any ideas? I AM reading that too much protein could cause problems, but I'm not going to take excessive, ridiculous amounts. So yeah, is there any relation to protein supplements and glaucoma?

Possible glaucoma or just sinuses?
First off, I was born with glaucoma, as rare as that is. It was surgically corrected in my right eye and the doctors told me it was completely gone when I was around 13 14 19 now . Recently, I've had a soreness in both my eyes, and I can't really decide if it's more above the eye or behind it. I've been coughing with some sinus drainage lately, so I'm ASSUMING it's sinuses, but with my history of eye issues, I'm still kind of worried. I'll be seeing an optometrist tomorrow morning. It's also worth noting that I've had no changes in vision of any kind, just sore, sensitive eyes. Am I overthinking this? If it is sinuses, it's the first time they've affected my eyes I'm a nose guy in that regard .

I am 16 do i have glaucoma?
My eyes dont hurt but they are slightly red i have checked to see if there is any abnormalities on my iris and three is none so do i have glaucoma and my vision is blurry because i have been wearing my glasses all say for the first time in weeks

Are people of all age groups checked for glaucoma?
Do optometrists test all their patients for glaucoma or only certain people of certain age groups? Is it weird that an optometrist wants to test a 14 and 16 year old for glaucoma? No family history of the disease Is he just trying to make more money?

I'm 15 and my ocular pressure was 20 am I in danger of developing glaucoma early?

Eye drops for glaucoma.....?
I have been given a prescription for Lumigren drops for glaucoma ......my pressures are well within normal limits .....vision is 20 20 corrected ......I am 67 years old ......he says I have 'cupped discs'.......why the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma ? I feel that my vision is far more difficult after 6 months on these drops .......he has nothing else no advice to offer. Thanks

Can young people get glaucoma?
I have glaucoma in one eye. My Dad and my grandmother on my Mother's side also had it. I have 4 children, ages range from 44 to 53. Should I assume that at least one of my children will have glaucoma, or 2 and if so, at about what age could this happen?

What else cause glaucoma besides the intraocular pressure?
When I visited the optometrist, the doctor said I may have glaucoma and need to do a thorough exam. She said it is not because of the intraocular pressure, but it is caused by something else. What else is it caused by if it's not the pressure level?

Cataracts & Glaucoma?
Can any one preferably a optometrist or ophthalmologist tell me if cataracts make it harder to monitor Glaucoma? I was diagnosed with cataracts last year then this year I was diagnosed with glaucoma. The ophthalmologist want to operate on my cataracts as he said it's stopping him from assessing the glaucoma properly. He also said it will make the glaucoma pressure drop. He has told me nothing about either the operation or the glaucoma. I am left to try to find information on the internet.

Will I get Glaucoma is the future?
Im a 21 year old african american male and I just had a appointment with the opthamoloigist. I alerady know that african american's are at the biggest risk for glaucoma but since my blood pressure and eye pressures are good then why is this happening .They said that my retina was good and that my eye pressure was 15. However, we found out that one of my eyes is stronger then the other. My right eye has a slightly bigger optnic nerve than my left eye. They said this could be a sign of glaucoma. They said I shouldnt be worried but just keep monitoring it over the years. One of the doctors also told me that I might have been born like this and that it was like this all along. What are the chances of me getting glaucoma even thought Im African AMerican.
