Do i have giardia? or is it something else?
Hey. I'm a 15 year old girl and have spent the last month backpacking. when i got home, about 2 weeks after my backpack ended, i started having bloating, cramping, etc. then i started having uncontrollable diarrhea. its been about a month now since my backpack and my symptoms are headache, diarrhea maybe 1 2 times a day and solid poop constipation maybe 1 time a day. it switches between diarrhea and constipation thru the day. also i have chest pains and my stomach is always gurgling after i eat or when i wake up and i have abdomin pain right about at my belly button. is it giardia? or what is it? also i remember having very very dirty fingers while on my backpack and eating with them, could i have gotten giardia from the soil dirt?

i was down at a pond and had a large amount of water get in my mouth i fell in . i was sick with abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. I mention giardia and my family says I'm a hypochondriac and i don't have a rare " african" parasite.I know what giardia is, but how do i tell them it is common.

Howdy.I was diagnosed with giardia from a homeopath after a parasite test I did after suffering from stomach pain, lack of appetite energy, diarrhea and nausea for a few months. I did a parasite cleanse and didn't see any changes, which made me think it must be some sort of other intestinal issue. This was in the Fall of 2010. Eventually I visited a Doc and did a stool sample, which came back negative. I tried a Goldenseal treatment, prescribed Zantac, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, changes in diet, allergy test nothing to keep an eye out for , another homeopath to no avail. A couple of months ago I did both a blood test I was also tested for celiac and an ultra sound from my stomach and below. Both came back negative. Stress or anxiety is definitely not the case here.Now that it's Summer again, I'm going nuts, could I say, I'm getting worse and I'm desperate for help at this point, the nausea is the worst thing I've ever experienced and I'm beginning to feel like life is just not worth living anymore. I came back to the conclusion that it may as well just be a bad case of giardia after looking up the symptoms on the web. Might I add, folks, I'm a fourteen year old girl. I have been suffering from this for a good year now and am resorting help from the Internet. Has anyone ever had long term giardia and found something that worked for them? I appreciate it... thanks
Giardia or something else?
hey guys so a few weeks ago i went backpacking. i remember having VERY dirty fingers and still eating with them and also i remember drinking out of streams although i iodized my water. the last day of backpacking i didnt eat anything because i felt sick. after the trip was done i started feeling a lot better. about two weeks later i started experiencing bloating, cramps right around my navel , and diarrhea about 2 times a day this lasted for a week or a week and a half. then i started switching between constipation and diarrhea but also had headaches and dizziness and now im farting and burping a lot and its been about 3 weeks since the symptoms started. i got a giardia test although i gave a bad sample , and it came out negative but i can feel my stomach churning when i go to sleep and after and before i eat.. its disgusting really. also ive had a loss of appetite and have lost 3 lbs so far. what is wrong with me? can i have giardia?also ive been having chest paini was very careful about the water that i used, but my hands were covered in soil and there were tons of deer around, thats why i think i might have giardia. are these the symptoms of giardia?
