Why aren't oral antibiotics used to treat gastroenteritis and other diarrhoeal diseases?
How do i prevent getting gastroenteritis?
i work in a nursing home as a CNA and the residents have gastroenteritis stomach virus . is it airborne or if i wear gloves and constantly wash my hands will i be ok? how is it spread and is it possible that i wont catch it?
I have been really ill and the doctor has said i have gastroenteritis?

So my boyfriend came down with it on Sunday and I got it Monday. It only lasted 24 hours. Well now his mother has it and I'm sure my parents will get it soon. Can I catch it again. I'm really scared.

I've had diarrhea since Tuesday, with vomiting starting on Friday. In the past two days, the diarrhea has gotten SIGNIFICANTLY worse with liquids going through me in about 10 minutes just straight liquid I know because I put food coloring in one and little to no urination which landed me in the hospital yesterday morning. They put me on an IV drip and they said I had gastroenteritis. They put me on the BRAT diet which I've read in multiple places shouldn't be used because it had no real nutrition and said to only drink liquids the first day, but that's only made it worse. Out of desperation I ate something which lessened the diarrhea significantly. I'm still having it though. I have to return to school in two days and I really can't afford to miss any school. It's already been six days and has only worsened. How long is it going to last? Would it be wise for me to stay home anyway?Forgot to mention that before the diarrhea started on Tuesday, I had severe nausea two days before I think it's all connected. I've had literally no sleep the past two days from this and it's making me miserable. I haven't seen any blood, but before going to the hospital yesterday, I was so severely dehydrated and whatnot the base of my fingernails and lips were getting a blue tint and I couldn't breathe correctly, but I was only put on the IV for an hour or so. Would it be worth going back, too? I mean, this is draining me so much.

Does gastroenteritis occur the same as botulism, Escherichia coli, and salmonella?
I am wondering why salmonella, E. coli, and, botulism occur the same as gastroenteritis AKA stomach bug, stomach flu, and stomach virus . Is this true? Because I don't want to eat any spoiled food or food that has been contaminated with bacteria or viruses.

Nearly two months ago, I had food poisoning that lasted about two weeks. After it subsided, I continued having diarhhoea after I digested quantities of dairy products. My mother helped narrow it down by process of elimination she is an ex nurse and midwife , and I've been on lacto free products for a while they're a godsend, I love my cheese About a week ago, I had maybe a small amount of yoghurt and was fine. I started slowly introducing it back into my diet. Yesterday I ate some grated cheese in a sub, and big mistake a cheesy pasta sauce dish for tea. Today I have terrible stomach cramps and diarrhoea. I'm slightly worried as I don't know how lactose intolerance can last if you did not have it before.Can anyone help?
Need help with the gastroenteritis virus going around?
i have came down with the stomach bug thats going around and i am wanting to know if any one has had this and what helped them kick this.. i have a 6 week old at home and i breastfeed so i have no chose but to be around her so i need to get something or do something to help with this.. i am to the point of trying anything, and if any one could tell me about how long dose this last.. this crap is kicking my butt something bad i will have a headache, my stomach will hurt and the back doors and i have got sick sick once so far and hope thats all i do and that was about over an hour ago..

Pretty self explanatory. I had gastroenteritis for about 24 hours. Started with diarrhea for a few hours, stomach cramps, then developed a fever, one bout of vomiting, body aches, chills, etc... The next day yesterday , I was exhausted but able to keep pretty much anything down. The problem is everything went down and stayed there. I've only passed anything at all twice and it was extremely little. My belly is distended and painful. I'm only passing gas pretty much constantly. I've taken some black strap molasses to try to get things moving but no progress. Is this normal? It's pretty worrisome to me. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Is doing too much stomach excercise cause Gastroenteritis?
I do 4 sets of stomach training, then I got gastroenteritis during the night. I can't sleep. I also got diahearr. I didnn't eat any bad food. Is doing too much sit up and stomach excercise cause pain and Gastroenteritis?
