Flail Chest

How would you treat a flail chest and a sucking chest wound?
I'm a paramedic student and I know for a flail chest you put pressure over the area, but for a sucking chest wound you put an occlusive dressing? What do you do if you have both?

Would it be possible to have reconstructive surgery for flail chest?
Apparently my chest and rib bones never healed properly after a good beating about several years ago. Do you think theres a doc that can even out my chest with minimal scarring? The right side of my chest is somewhat concaved....gross, huh? The looks of it does make me a bit insecure but mostly, its the sharp pains that come back every once in a while and I can hear it crackling when I stretch sometimes. Its getting more uncomfortable for me as the years go by.If you're curious as to why I never sought medical attention when it happened, it was due to an ignorant mother....extremely ignorant in many ways.

Information on a flail chest?
Okay, so i haven't broken any ribs or anything but i am curious to know about this. If you broke several ribs from a fall and they broke off inside, how would they be fixed?? Would it require surgery since the bones have broken off?? if so how would it be done, and how long would hospital stay require?

Trauma Assessment...What do you do for a Flail Chest?
I am a junior in high school and am taking a first responder class. I took my trauma assessment and passed second time around. But... When I was assessing my patient partner, I was assessing the chest and the tester said the person had a flail chest. I was not taught how to deal with that. I said to note it and then later I said I would stabilize it. But then she asked how would you stabilize it and what would you use? I got confused. What I want to know is how to treat a flail chest, what are you supposed to do? Admiral I am not aloud to do that. I am only a first responder , I have to stick to my protocals.
