Epiglottitis
epiglottitis Information
What is epiglottitis?
I was just diagonsed with epiglottitis at age 46, when should I be able to return to work?
Can I develop epiglottitis?
so it was this past Saturday night Sunday morning if you will at 2am, eating cookies and milk..one of the parts of cookie was still dry and somehow slid down my throat without warning and by impulse I stopped myself from choking and it got caught at the in between area or the wind pipe and esophagus epiglottis the flap that closes off the esophagus when we breathe and closes off the wind pipe when we swallow food drink and it burnt a little most likely bc it was chocolate but I'm worried it scratched my epiglottis enough to cause inflammation epiglottitis and the only reason I'm worried is bc I know it can occur very rapidly or over a few days..its not like I have any of the symptoms except for having a generalized tight feeling in my throat like there's a lump or something there, swallowing isn't difficult or painful, just feel like my breathing is very very minimally blocked which isn't the worry, I'm worried about the inflammation increasing and closing off the wind pipe completely..trying to avoid the doctors ER over almost nothing expect a worry that it could happen..so question is could a dry small piece of cookie rubbing on my epiglottis cause enough swelling tha slowly increases over a couple days that could close off my windpipe without any notice???
Epiglottitis? HELP ASAP?
i'm on 15. I am not 100 % sure if i have epiglottis. but the symptoms show. i have an enlarged epiglottis, and swollen taste buds in the back of my tongue. and the back of my mouth looks like i have red bumps. anyways, my epiglottis has been swollen for about 3 weeks, and my stupid doctor said it is just " irritated" and told me to take throat longes? or whatever it's called. and i have. but none of my symptoms are going away or making a change. do i have epiglottitis? and how long does it take for epiglottitis to go away by itself instead of get it treated? i know i have some type of infection. feedback ASAP.
Epiglottitis or just trouble breathing due to infection?
I don't know what i have. There is mucus dry scratchy feeling in throat sometimes off and on it feels like there's a lump or inflammation somewhere going on down there. I had pharyngitis recently. But it doesn't feel like that, it feels deeper in my mouth or windpipeAnd earlier, yesterday in my 6th period, I had trouble breathing. Kinda out of nowhere. Maybe it was an epiglottitis spasm? it got better but the feeling never really left me, such a weird feeling i can't describe. I'm already on antibiotics.Should i go to the er or doctors?Symptoms I don't have of epiglottis or w.e fever redness of face stidorShould i just take my antibiotics perscribed for a throat infection and do the nebulizer machine?
