Does this sound like a lung clot?(pulmonary embolism)?
The past week ive notice my heart rate has been crazy. And ive been a little short of breath. Then about 4 days ago i had a stabbing pain in my shoulder which spread to my chest. It hurts the most when im moving around a lot or at night when im in certain positions sleeping. Its in the middle of my upper chest and kinda spreads to the left. Its not COMPlETELY constant...and it worsens sometimes. It hurts if i press on my breastbone. And it hurts if i take a breathMy blood pressure has been fineIm only 18, but im 31 weeks pregnant and obese and kinda inactive. So im at risk. What do you guys think? I dont want to go to the ER if i dont have to....im just worried about my baby.Im a little short of breath but not TERRIBLY.

What is an air embolism?

Question about pulmonary embolism?
So I had my tonsils removved in september 2010. About a week after having them removed, my chest and breathing because slightly tight, like it felt like a weight was on my chest. Nothing made it worse, like i can exercise with it and breathe in pollen and dust without it getting worse and the doctors have rulled out asthma. I was wondering if its possible that it could be pulmonary embolism?? Would pulmonary embolism cause my chest to be tight and would it last over a year without going?? Or is it that once it sets in, its obivous and like an emergency or could it stay in my chest for like a year like its doing? Its not extremly bad or anything, just feels like my chest muscles dont want to expand to allow me to breath a deep breath and it just feels constrained and not free like it usually is. Nothing makes it better. Its constantly there, it doesnt come and go. I do get heart palpatations but that was put down to being hyperventlation syndrome. I have exercises to help with the hyperventlation syndrome but it seems to get slightly worse when I concentrate on my breathing and take deep breaths so i just dont do the exercises and continue taking shallow breaths. I do get chest pains that are made worse when I take deep breaths or sometimes when I breathe. Sometimes it can get slightly worsewhen I lie down. OMG i really need help lol. Im a 16 year old girl and this is honestly ruining my life as im constantly living in fear of it. Any suggestions? Do yyou think its pulmonary embolism or something else?? Any ideas would really help so thanks

Can seasonal allergies cause a pulmonary embolism?

Why can a Pulmonary embolism cause low O2 but not High CO2?
If ventilation is greater than perfusion then why does CO2 not build up?

Hi can you get a pulmonary embolism at 22? I been coughing and have chest pain for about a month.?
I don't have any blood clots though at least I don't think. Can you tell by a stethoscope? Don't you need blood clots to get it, also how long can you live with the clot.

Pulmonary embolism in emergency room?
Hi there. My doctor raised concerns today about a possible pulmonary embolism based upon some vague symptoms I was having. Just a little short of breath I think it may be due to anxiety more so no coughing, bloody sputum, chest pain or etc. Just short of breath. Anyways he ordered for a PE CT scan but I can't go for that until tomorrow morning and I am supposed to leave on a flight at 10AM. My question is if I go to the emergency room tonight can they accurately diagnose a pulmonary embolism in the ER? What kind of tests will they use? Will they be as good as this contrasted PE CT scan or should I just hold off and do it in the morning and reschedule my flight?I dont believe I am in any true danger but I think having this concern dismissed will put my mind at ease for my trip. Also do I need to worry about an allergic reaction to this iodine contrast?

How severe is the pain of a pulmonary embolism? like a scale of 1-10. i'm not sure if i should go in or not.?
the pain i'm having is sharp pangs around my shoulder collarbone wing bone in my back, likened to a side ache. a little dizzy, exhausted all day, a little nauseated all day. very hard to breath after i got out of the shower a few hours ago, since improved. currently have a clot in my arm on the same side that it's hurting. not on blood thinners.is a pulmonary embolism severe pain or can it be medium as well? i'm not sure what to do.i forgot to mention that it's swollen over my collarbone and along the top of my shoulder. i haven't injured it. the clot is in a superficial vein in my ARM. they must have thought it was safe because for the last week i was instructed to do compresses and not given blood thinners or anything.

I have had symptoms of pulmonary embolism for a week now...would i be dead by now if i had it?

Pulmonary embolism, DVT, and heart attacks...?
My grandma has multiple blood clots in her lungs and in her legs... So she has PE and DVT. She has had 3 heart attacks and has 9 stents in her heart. She is 60 years old. She was on treatment to the clots but it endangered her life she was bleeding internally warfin she is no longer on treatment because of that reason. we are in Texas will she be safe to move to Arizona? She got the clots from traveling from az to tx. Can she make it safely? She had had DVT & PE. For about 2 years now.

What does it mean if the doctors say they don't know where a pulmonary embolism came from?
The patient recently had knee surgery, but an ultrasound was done on the knee, and doctor said it didn't come from there.

Why would a pulmonary embolism get by undetected?
If the patient came in to the hospital with a respiratory infection, was overweight and diagnosed with asthma.. It became pneumonia while she was in the hospital. When the pneumonia cleared up they had noticed she wasn't maintaining her oxygen levels without the help of a breathing mask, she kept the mask for days and was given a respirator when she was moved to the rehab center.. The patient was bed ridden for two or more weeks and it did not occur to anybody that they must take precautions to consider blood clot formations? She passed at the rehab center

Pulmonary embolism recurrence risk?
I had a pulmonary embolism last March 2011 , and it was a rather scary experience, I am wondering what my chances are of having another one. I am only 27 yrs old and I had it after my pancreatic surgery, I guess I didnt get up to walk enough and removed my leg compressors not really sure what theyre called too often since they got itchy. I was given shots in my belly every day to prevent one from forming but it still occurred. Now I am back at work and I sit ALOT and I rarely leave my desk, I have also gone back to school so the majority of my day I am sitting. I dont get much of a chance to exercise, but I am overall healthy, not overweight, no serious illness that I know of. I have been feeling some pain behind my knee and I am a bit worried and will be going to see my dr. this week but I was wondering if this puts me at risk of having another one??
