Digestive Disorders
digestive disorders Information
Are there any digestive disorders that can be transmitted from person to person?
The symptoms are similar to IBS, Crohn's disease, etc and last for months. In my research, I've read that there are good and bad bacteria involved with the digestive system. Could these be affected by having sexual contact with another person?
During a rouitne clinical investigations for digestive disorders, my wife (aged 60 yrs) tested +ve for mantaux?
But the other tests are all normal like chest X ray, CT and even BFMT etc. She dosen't have any other problem of either frequent breathlessness, fever, cough or cold. Does ve Mantaux is a confirmatory test for TB? The Gastro doctor advised to start antibiotics for cure of TB. But we want to confirm first whether she actually has T.B.before strating the medicine course?

Can someone please help me w/ experience in digestive disorders, or gallbladder problems?
I am trying not to stress myself out about this but it's starting to worry me. To start off with I am a 25 yr. old woman in good health or at least I think I am. I am 5 ft. tall, 117 lbs., with good blood pressure 104 68 , and I try to exercise and take care of myself. I had my gall bladder removed in the middle of Oct. so I've had it out a little over 3 months. For the past couple of months I have been waking up early in the mornings about 3 00 am with my heart racing and experiencing indigestion or heartburn, and sweating. I feel terrible when I wake up and feel as if I can't catch my breath. Last night it happened and I got up and took a Zantac and w in 30 minutes I was fine. For the past week I have been experiencing bouts of using the bathroom about 3 times a day and then go a few days and not do anything. One of those days I did experience diarrhea. My stomache has been feeling crampy, bloated, gassy, nauseaus, and I have not been running any fever. I've noticed soft drinks make me more gassy than usual. I went to the Dr. about it and they took bloodwork and put me on antibiotics. The bloodwork was fine. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? My mom said something about colitis. The waking up in the morning really scares me b c I'm scared of having a heart attack I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest. I can also say that my nerves have been getting to me which probably doesn't help. The doc doesn't think my problems are from my surgery.
Severe digestive disorders when quitting the lethal cigs?
can anyone help? I have been trying to quit smoking off and on for over 4 years now but everytime i do i can not get over the first week due mainly to severe digestive problems that start after roughly 12 hours. AS soon as this clicks in I find it difficult to work or doing anything without severe pain...my bowel appears to cut off completely and sometimes i have lasted for over 5 days without any bowel movement. Ive told my doc and she says its because i dont allow withdrawel properly ...and i agree....as I always relieve the constipation having suffered usually for a couple of days with smoking....lolive tried everything. My body detox's over and over but by the time it is starting to recover i am so stressed by the constipation and pain i end up smoking and so continues this horrid addiction.....anyone got any advice?im 35 and have been diagnosed as having ibs..though these symptoms only occur when i lay off tobacco for more than 12 hours... ive tried everything to keep it working during this detox process but all has failed..inc fruit veg...buckets of water...oj....porridge....fibre....low fibre....but it ALWAYS happens when i said 'lethal cigs' i meant lethal as in the 'things that are dangerous to our health' just to make that clear...tis nothing to do with weed. thanks

Has anyone in California been approved for MMJ use for digestive disorders?
My husband has bad bad acid reflux. He'll wake up in the morning to his stomach hurting and be in the bathroom forever throwing up to the point of blood and burping up tons of air that seems to be trapped in his stomach. He also has no appetite. We have been to the doctor for this and he has said that it sounds like acid reflux and probably even ulcers. He prescribed medicine but it does not work and my husbands stomach does not do well with pills of any kind . He does smoke weed and that is all that seems to help. If he does not have it his stomach will be hurting all day and he will not have an appetite to eat. I have researched the topic and found good information on the subject but on the other hand have seen alot of sights that say the illness has to be chronic in order to be approved. So I would just like to know if anyone living in California has been approved for MMJ for this illness and where did you go? Thank you for all answers they are greatly appreciated. No they prescribed Prilosec but my husbands stomach can't take any pills. Any type just hurts his stomach. Also no they did not do any further checking into the situation. I just go to my town clinic because of my insurance and they arn't very good doctors period. Infact I don't even think they are actual doctors but working up to becoming actual doctors.

Can antibiotics cause digestive disorders?
I used to take a lot of antibiotics as a kid teen. 3 years ago, I started to develop chronic digestive problems like diarrhea . I just wonder, could antibiotics eventually cause a digestive disorder? It has majorly effected my life. A mix of fear and having these digestive problems has made me homebound a lot of the time. I went to a few doctors, they have no idea what could be wrong, unless they do a test such as a colonoscopy, and I do not think I can handle doing something like that.
Digestive Disorders?
Can you name some digestive disorders that would make a good project and have a lot of information?
