I'm 22 years old. I was diagnosed with DDD in July of this year, I have 4 slipped disc in my back. It caused a condition called 'spinal stenosis. It runs in my family. Surgery is out as are drugs because I have no self control and will abuse the hell out of them so for now I stay away. Physical therapy stretches aren't helping like they use to. I need this pain to go away. Does anybody have any advice?

but im just freaking out, will it paralyse me? thats what i really need to know COULD it paralyse me? im just worried that whatever i do, it will be making it worse, please help thankyou xx
17 year old with degenerative disc disease L4/L5?
the pain started when i was 15, been constant ever since. since then i've had 2 discectomys 4 epidurals, intensive physio. but nothing is working and the pain wont go away i'm desperate.all 3 of my surgeons consultants say theres nothing more they can do try pain management, but i dont want to do that i dont want to give up...please has anyone ever had heard of this before ? and has anyone any recomendations?it was not caused by an accident or anything that i no of, just out of the blue pain

I was diagnosed with mild degenerative disc disease with c4 and c5 herniation without narrowing. Now i have some pain and discomfort every day but have flare ups were it can be debilitating. My doctors tell me that all i have is arthritis and that i shouldn't have any pain and look at me as a drug seeker. I have a new pain that i haven't had before and its worse than the pain that i had before. How do i get Relief and i how do i get my doctor to believe that i am truly in pain?I have tried anti inflammatory medication like Advil and Naproxin and it does nothing for my pain. And I'm not necessarily looking for narcotics just anything that will help. My doctor just refuses to do anything at all for me nothing period. He doesn't believe that i have any pain.Jarrod are you a doctor? If so, were do you practice? If you were around my area I would to see you or direct me to someone who would be able to help.

I have gotten an MRI which diagnosed me having the disease but, I also have symptoms like dizziness nauseousness, and hot and cold flashes from this disease....i have taken a pregnancy test and came negative..that was three weeks ago....i also just recently stopped taking cymbalta which has made my mind messed up... i ran out of it ...i also have no insurance because i recently moved so i can't just go see a doctor...idk what to do...and please don't be rude...help?
Can I go on a rollercoaster with Degenerative Disc Disease?
I'm 15 and I've been diagnosed with DDD degenerative disc disease . I'm already down for spinal surgery, which is a big deal to me, as this will recur throughout my life. After my GCSEs, I'm going to a theme park with my friends, but I'm terrified that a rollercoaster could cause another disc to herniate. Any help on do's and don't's with DDD would help so much, I'd be so greatful for any answers, thanks.
Whats the difference between degenerative disk disease and osteoarthritis?
I had cervical fusion 10 years ago. I have been told the I have degenerative disk disease, degenerative spine disease and now osteoarthritis. I was told at the er that x rays showed bone spurs in my lumbar spine and now in my thoracic spine. Needless to say my legs and arms hurt all the time. I have began to start dropping alot of stuff that I am holding in my left hand and my right legs continues to cause me to fall. Does anyone know if there is a difference in these diagnosis or is it all the same thing? Thanks to anyone who has an answer.
Will I be able to work with Degenerative disc Disease?
I year ago I found out have Degenerative disc disease. It is my L2 3, L3 4, L4 5, L5 S1. I was working at the time and it was hard to sit or stand. I stay in constant pain some days are worse than others. I want to work and I am looking for job. I have recently been able to start seeing a doctor again to get help for my condition because I have no insurance. I was told my the doctor that I will need surgery and I am worried if this will make my condition worse or better. Most of all I want to work with out worrying that my pain is to bad for to finish shift. Last year I was on met life disability because it was that bad and got 3 epidural injections that did not work.
