my 18 month old was diagnosed with reflux when he was 6 weeks old. he used to vomit 20 times plus a day and was started on infant gaviscon, not much help with the vomiting. he was referred to peaditrician . weight gain okish to poor. now at 18 months weight gain good 25 50th centile and is on 4 different drug treatments . he stopped actively vomiting at 10 months but began to have cyonotic eposodes where his lips were purple. didnt bother him. paeds say this is becaues he is still refluxing without vomiting. he still has regular " blue" do's but is generally fit and well. he has had barium meal to say he still does reflux severley and has been put on more medication to empty his stomach. has anyone had similar experiences like this with reflux. his " blue " do's are worse when he is unwell and can last from a few minutes to hours. does this sound like typical reflux or should i be concerned that it is more serious. drs seam unconcerned at present time as he is well and gaining weight.
