Conjunctivitis
conjunctivitis Information
Giant papillary conjunctivitis?
Earlier this year I had GPC and was prescribed eye drops which cleared it up within a few weeks. I then changed my cleaning regime and time spent wearing each lense which used to be pretty bad and had no problems since. I recently moved to Vietnam and today I noticed a red patch on my eye the same symptom that led me to go to the optomitrist last time . I've taken my contacts out and plan on wearing my glasses for the rest of the week. the dot has mostly gone away . Would anyone who knows more on the subject be able to tell me if they think this is GPC again or whether something else has irritated my eye? Is there anyway i can tell? Also, if it is GPC, will it go away if I discontinue using my contacts and dont go to a doctor to get steroids?

Extremely painful red eye, could it be conjunctivitis?
It's only in the right eye, and it's quite red all over, it hurts as if sensitive to air, as if it's too bright out when I'm really in the dark, I usually wear contacts so I can't tell if my vision is altered, seems alright, my mom's house has had a cold roaming around could that have something to do with it? I live in America so I can't afford health insurance that covers an eye doctor.I'm not sure about the sensitive to light part actually, I've been sitting in front of this white screen all day, sick, bummed that I can't go out, I've been trying to keep it closed. What else could it be? If something else, hopefully something that will go away quickly.
Can viral conjunctivitis (pink eye) become bacterial?
On New Years eve I contracted some form of viral tonsillitis, bedridden on new years day with a gritty texture in my eye that I suspected was an eyelash. I went into A& E in the UK visiting boyfriend, I'm from Sweden when this condition worsened by blurring my sight on left eye and a very raw throat. I was given co codamol for the throat and an antibiotic lubricant for the eye, diagnosed with both conditions viral. Used this lubricant for a day approx then had to travel home, and forgot the tube. Yesterday I was pretty much fine except for a lot of phlegm and raw throat, no fever or the like. A lot of resting due to jetlag. When I woke up this morning and during the night my eyes were glued together by sticky discharge and my eyes are red. This seems to have occured on both eyes but is definitely worse on my right.I know for a fact that it likely is bacterial conjuncitivitis, and since my little brothers 2.5y.o and 3.5y.o had gotten it early december, my mother had some eye drops antibiotic, I reckon fusidic acid since it is taken morning evening but was too blinded to read when she put it in . For this reason I decided not to go to the dr since it should be a natural course of healing...HOWEVER, my concern is that these eye drops were given to two children already same tube and when I was given the lubricant at A& E, he said specifically not to use it on both eyes to prevent cross infection... but when I seem to have a full blown condition on both eyes, is it really so bad?I feel no pain or irritation save for the excessive amount of discharge, I use disinfective handwipes for my hands and wet cotton pads to wipe excess discharge off... how else can I ease the condition and how long is the incubation period as I resume education on Monday? Thanks and sorry for long text

Should I go to the doctor with conjunctivitis?
I got it yesterday. It's bacterial because yellow stuff came out and when I woke up this morning my eyes were closed shut with a yellow crust. My eyes are still red and the bottom part of my eyelid is swollen.
I MIGHT have conjunctivitis (pink eye), can I still use old mascaras?
My eye doesn't itch and isn't red at all, but I have a bad cold allergies and my eye keeps having this greenish colored discharge. Anyways, I went to my school's health center and they gave me eye drops for Conjunctivitis pink eye just to be safe. I know you're supposed to throw away all of your eye makeup with pink eye... The problem is I'm kind of obsessed when it comes to mascara and have A LOT of them that were really expensive. Is it really necessary that I get rid of them all? And can I wear any eye makeup during the 5 7 days of using the eye drops? It could just be allergies, and if that were the case this would be a waste of a lot of money
A question about viral conjunctivitis?
I just went to the eye doctor and she said I have viral conjunctivitis that was caused by the cold that I'm just getting over. She told me that I can't give the conjunctivitis to anyone else, I may give them my cold and they could get it that way, but the conjunctivitis isn't contagious. However, I looked around online and it seems it's quite contagious. Can someone help me clarify? Maybe the certain type of conjunctivitis I have isn't contagious? Also, do I have have to throw away the eye makeup liner, mascara, shadow that I've been using?

Can conjunctivitis go away for a two days, then return?
I had conjunctivitis for a week. It went away for two days, then came back. I'm doing all the right things. I change my pillow cases every morning. I wash my hands after touching my eyes. And I know I'm being careful, because I have three kids, who are 6, 2, and 6 months old plus my husband, who all have not caught it. Why won't it go away?

Conjunctivitis advice?
I have mild conjunctivitis I probably picked up from working with children all day. I am using cooled boiled water and salt to clean the eye area. Could I use optrex or another type of eye solution for the itchiness?
Is this Conjunctivitis?
so yesterday i had quite an itchy eye, but i thought it was just my new mascara, i cleaned it off before bed, yet woke to find my right eye very very red and abit sore. i got up and took an anti histamene, because i take one before i go to muck out my horses, and by the time i came back it was almost completely cleared up, but still abit sore. was it some sort of allergic conjunctivitis that was cleared by the anti histamine tablet? thank you so much
