Colorectal Cancer
colorectal cancer Information
My friend has been diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer which has spread to his liver. . Advice?
My best friend has been diagnosed with cancer. Here is his diagnosis. He is 55 and except for this has almost never been sick. He was the vision of health before his diagnosis. " Patient has been diagnosed with a malignant neuroendocrine tumor arising in the rectum metastatic to liver and lymph nodes, stage IV" two doctors have said he has 6 8 months to live. His oncologist said last week basically chemo is not worth it, it might ad two months to his life but ruin the time he has left, and to prepare for going into a hospice to die soon. Here are my concerns First, his oncologist was with an HMO, Kaiser Permanente. He lives near one of the best cancer hospitals in the country, University of California San Francisco. They have trial programs that might include him. Would an HMO be more likely to " write him off?" Would be benefit from getting a second opinion at a research hospital? Is it worth fighting? Or is his diagnosis really that hopeless? I see survival stories on the web. His wife is Chinese and is taking him to see Oriental doctors. Can they help?Any advice would be appreciated. I fly out to California tomorrow to be with him as he gets a second opinion.I want to thank you all so much for your help. I will be going to the oncologist with my friend tomorrow.
Possibility of colorectal cancer?
am a 30 yr old male. About six months ago I came down with a horrible intestinal virus what the docs thought although testing my stool didn't find c diff as they supposed it to be I had horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea for three weeks. I had no blood in my stool but there was mucus. They put me on several antibiotics and the diarrhea finally went away although my stool hasn't been the same since. Since it has always been much softer and sometimes lighter in color. also at the time I was diagnosed with high bp and have since been on lisinopril anyway about four days ago I started having some really soft stools that developed into bad diarrhea and cramps. Then two nights ago I vomitted.and also some red blood almost like a clot that I pooped out. So I went to the er. They told me it was a bug that was going around that is nasty. I havent had blood since but still have cramps and diarrhea. Anyway I was wondering what the chances are that this could be related to colorectal cancer? I have no family history of it.
Do I have colorectal cancer?
I am 36 years old, single, never been married with no kids. I have a very painful lump inside my rectum. It is just slightly inside, not very deep in. I have been having bleeding since I was in my teens from hemorrhoids, but in the past it always eventually went away on its own, but this time it has been almost a year. I am constantly fatigued lately. I have narcolepsy, so I have always had a tendency to need to take naps during the day, but I am even more tired than usual lately. I have very thin stool, have been having migraines, and feel nauseated lately as well.I live in Mississippi with no health insurance, so I don't know where to go to get checked out.

Bloody stool three months after colorectal cancer surgery?
My mother had surgery to remove a tumor I think It's called a resection, not sure . That was three months ago. The doctor said it was Stage 1 and that all of the tumors polyps had been removed. The surgery was three months ago. Two days ago, my mom noticed blood in her stool again. Can colon cancer come back after just three months? Besides another tumor, are there any other causes of bloody stool? The blood is bright red, not black and tarry. My mother's doctor's appointment is set for next week, but she's really worried.Thank you very much and I appreciate your help.
I think I could have colorectal cancer. Help please?
I'm a 17 year old, healthy male teenager and I know this kind of cancer is very rare for my age, but I believe I do present many symptoms linked to the condition. For the last two months, I have experienced some abdominal discomfort cramps, they are not necessarily painful, but they happen about 25 % of the time and are annoying me. Rarely, I also have rectal pain. As I have never suffered diarrhea for the past six weeks or have been running to the bathroom, my stools are not always normal. Sometimes they seem normal on the Bristol scale, sometimes they are rather small and hard and come in multiple quantities whenever I have a bowel movement. I usually have one bowel moment everyday, which sounds rather good. I am not experiencing any major feeling of tiredness, I can manage to go to school, work and do long bike rides. Also, especially when it is hot outside, I have night sweats, they don't happen most of the nights, but when it does, my bedsheets and clothes are soaked. I would say my appetite is normal, I eat usual amounts of food, snacks and three meals a day. Two months ago, my symptoms were worse I had diarrhea and have noticed appetite weight loss, but I have gotten better. I also reflected on the possibilities that I could suffer Crohn's disease, but I am confident that the symptoms I have are not as bad. What are your opinions?I forgot to mention that my stools are not bloody or red. Their colour is normal.
I think i might have colorectal cancer?
for 3 weeks i had a little drop of blood after bowel movements on the toilet paper, but i didint see any in the stool itself. these last 4 days i havent noticed any blood in my stool or on my toilet paper? good sign huh. well the last 2 days i have also ad pebbly stool and i havent actualy gone in 2 days, i usualy go atleast once a day. i was straining to go today but only a few pebbly like pieces came out, and they had small but noticeable strands globs of MUCUS on them......im worried, can anyone tell me what this could be?i told my mom, she said it was because of my diet, which i figured. i eat complete trash all day, everyday its pizza and french fries for lunch and a dinner usualy that doesnt have fiber in it. also, there was no blood, that could be seen in my stool. there was a little bit of red on the toilet paper, like the size of an " o" and that was all, she gave me some things to eat for lunch with fiber and i will go to a doctor if it doesnt go away. sofar i have done nothing to try and solve the problem, i pretty much just ignored it. my stomach doesnt hurt, my stools are the same diameter, my stomach doesnt hurt, i want to eat right now as a matter of fact, im not nauseous, i havent vomitted in years, just a regurgitation once in a while.

I have Blood in my faeces. Do I have colorectal cancer?
This is the first time this has happened. I had some mild discomfort passing the stool and after seeing red on the toilet paper and in the bowl I was alarmed to see patches of blood inside and around my stool. There was a fair amount of blood about 1 10 of a pint which worried me the most.I plan on going to the doctor as soon as I can.
Signs of colorectal cancer?
So my mate is 21, he is worried because he has read symptoms online and wanted to know is it possible someone of his age to get this? Symptoms...Bleeding when he goes to the toilet. Not always. occasional in with the stool blood Sometimes very dark occasionally diarrhoeaKidney pains...or around that area. dribbles a lot when he sleeps....i mean his urine. But not wetting the bad. Just a little wet around this PJ's when he wakes up. So any specialists out there know if this is possible?Sorry, no he has not seen the doctor yet. In fact, over the summer he did mention it...they told him to come in and use a camera of some sort but he got scared and is real shy. I mean who wants some middle aged man to stick his fingers up his butt? lol

Is Colorectal cancer likely to occur in someone aged 19?
For about a year and a half i have experienced slight discomfort when defecating. At first i thought it was simply piles, however it has never really gone away. Although it has been relatively unnoticeable up until about a month ago when i noticed more discomfort and also blood in the stool, and persistent diarrhea. It seems that colorectal cancer in people my age is extremely rare, and i have no family history of cancer at all, however i am unsure what the problem is. I plan to see my doctor in the near future, but i would like to know if anyone has any idea what the problem may be, and if i should be worried that it may be colorectal cancer? Any advice will be much appreciated
