I suffer from colitis, but know I need to change my diet for the better? ?
I'd like to remain on a healthy diet so that I can stay well but when working & always in & out of the house I find it hard to keep to healthy food. I thought the pain of my last relapse would help, clearly not.
Ulcerative colitis help?
im 15 and have been diagnosed with mild uc for about 2 months. im on asacol hd. i can eat popcorn, some fried foods, sweets. what are some other foods that i can most likely eat that will not cause another flare up.

Alright, Ive had bad pain in my lower right quadrant of my stomach. Sharp stabbing pain felt like appendicitis . My doctor sent me for a star ct scan with contrast. It showed inflammation in my bowel. I went to get an upper gi study lower bowel study. It came back normal. Still having severe pain though. Sent for bloodwork stool samples. One thing something that is high with ibd inflammatory bowel disease was high, rest normal. Still having severe pain. I had an abdominal ultrasound before all this for a different issue so that was normal as well. Well I was sent for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. My mom said the doctor said I was still out of it because of the general anesthesia that I had mucus in my ilium and there was slight chance It was residue from the barium but unlikely because that was 4 weeks before hand. Well guess what, it came back normal What I'm wondering is, can you still have IBD without the biopsies coming back of Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis? I'm at a loss everything with Crohn's was making sense, irregular periods, joint pain, stomach issue, etc.I've had severe diarrhea since the scopes so now I am diagnosed with ibs. Go figure. I don't believe this though.PLEASE HELP ME 15, female. I want my normal life back.
Can Ulcerative colitis be cured?
Or can't like cancer? Does it have stages?
Why is my colitis not stopping?
almost 2 years ago, when I was 16, I was started having rectal bleeding and slight diarrhoea I went to my GP and they at first thought it was a cut inside my anus, when the bleeding didn't stop I went to the hospital where they made me have a colonoscopy, they found out that I had colitis the colitis has only affected last part of my large intestine, not all the way through it . the doctor put me on asacol suppositories, i was on them for a year and a 1 2 and although it drastically reduced the amount of blood it did not completely stop it or the diarrhoea. recently they have changed my prescription to colazide tablets and movicol drinks these have worked alot better and had stopped my colitis, but when i started to reduce these it has restarted again.
Diets for people who have IBD (ulcerative colitis)?
I was reasently diagnosed with Right sided UC and I don't know what food is best for me now? Cos I heard that some foods that are good for normal people are really bad for people with IBD Help? Thanks x
Ulcerative colitis: on what basis would you be confined in a hosputsl?
If anybody knows about or has UC, how bad would your symptoms have to be in order for the doctor to have to confine you in a hospital?
Sister might have colitis?
My sister went to the hospital due to having constant diarrhea and stomach aches for a month. Today they found blood in her poop. She's is only 9 and I'm really worried about her. Does colitis sounds right and how bad can it be? My dad had it but had a very severe case so I'm not sure how bad a mild case can be. If not colitis what else could it be? I'm like freaking out about it and don't know what to do.

For about 5 months I've been having bloody stools with lots of mucus. Sometimes it's just the blood and mucus without stool. Ive gone back a forth with constipation and diarrhea and i get very bloated. I have pain in my lower back on my right side also. Can anyone help me? Colonoscopies are very expensive and I don't have insurance.

hi so recently i have been having weird bowel movements. that means that i would only go to the bathroom in the morning after my cup of coffee. i don't know if my body got used to this routine but now that i have stopped it after going to the doctor i seem to be bloated all day and have abdominal discomfort. anyways, after a bit i started noticing mucus in my stools. so i did some research, got kinda scared so my dad's friend who is a nurse talked to her boss to schedule me for a colonoscopy. i just had it a few days ago and the doctor found a small inflammation around the rectum area. she took a biopsy...i got scared when i heard that but they told me it was the routine now, to make sure everything is fine. my doc prescribed SALOFALK suppositories and I'm going back in 2 months.she told me there is nothing serious and i should eat more finer, take my meds and that it should be fine. i have to admit my diet has been bad lately. i have been so stressed with school that i would sometimes eat only a meal per day. don't know if stress like that has anything to do with it but I'm guessing it doesn't help.while waiting for my results i have been reading some stuff and some symptoms i have are connected with chron's or ulcerative colitis....i did bleed a bit but very rarely could it be because of the infection inflammation? i do not have diarrhoea or go to the bathroom a lot just once a day. i gotta eat laxative foods like kiwi or some dairy to actually go. however my stoosl are not hard, they seem normal so i don't know whats wrong with me. anyone that has advice i would rally appreciated it because i am so stressed with a lot of things atm and this health issue does not help thank you all
Is colitis curable without surgery?
I did a colonoscopy and gastroscope today and the doctor informed my that I may have colitis but that they have to wait for the biopsy results. I'm only 20, and they told me the disease can be hereditary. I Believe my dad has it too. Is colitis curable without surgery? The nurse told me, that once I get on the medications, that the symptoms will eventually go away. All help appreciated xD
Crohn's / colitis - anyone use niccotine for it? Any good herbs?
niccotine, generally in the form of cigarettes, is well known to sooth flare ups for crohn's and colitis. my Dr has said its fine for me to smoke sometimes i have an 80 % raw food organic diet, so no lectures please , but I am interested to hear from anyone who uses niccotine patches, sprays etc rather than marlboro lights etc. I can get patches free from my Dr if i wish.Also any good herbs you take? I'm about to try a new mixture comfrey, wild yam and mallow. I was totoally knocked out and almost hospitalised over the weekend with a flare up, so it's all to the fore of my mind, rather than squashed away at the back where I usually keep it.My weight is stable becuase I also have a uneractive thyroid which i keep untreated this usually makes people overweight, but in me, balances out the weight i lose Any other alternative remedies? I know Aloe Vera is excellent, but the only one to work for me is ultra expensive, so I have it once in a blue moon... Anyone else?Thank you.
Could I be prescribed Medicinal Marijuana For Ulcerative Colitis?
I've had ulcerative colitis for about 5 years now, and whenever i get a flare up, it is rather painful, and stressful. I was curious if i were to move to california if i would be eligible for a medicinal marijuana prescription, because i find it helpful to the condition. Thanks D
