Two nights ago I started to twitch uncontrolably, it got worse and worse and eventually, after half an hour of worrying and NHS 24h calls I was taken to hospital. Somebody saw me and took me into one of the rooms in A& E. After lots of tests, blod tests and questions I was told that I had to stay overnight. All the tests came back clean and everyone was confused as to what it was.in the morning the doctor found the back of my throat was inflamed. I can be distracted from the twitching and I stop when I sleep. It's actually more like jerking than twitching. I had a sleepless night that night because my body was jerking too much. My head jerks to the left and sometimes my hand flies up. I also sometimes go " tsch" when I jerk. I'm thirteen years old and I've never experienced anything like it before, and I'm still jerking. I'm on penycillin four times a day for the next 6 days, chorea is what the doctors are treating me for. they also say it could be due to some underlying stress that I don't really know about cos this sometimes happens to overachieving girls of my age. What do you think?
