I Have cataracts and....?
Hello all. OK So I have cataract in my right eye. From about a week ago I sometimes feel really really dizzy and I just fall to the ground I don't get the chance to even sit down and I don't faint or anything. I just fall to the ground and after about 5 Min's or so I feel OK and I get up but my body is gone all tired. I am 48 years old and I have had cataract for the past 4 years and getting an operation in 2 weeks. Does Cataract cause this problem?

Is monocular diplopia caused by cataracts? If the cararacts are not severe, should the condition be ignored?
Or what can be done about it, other than cataract surgery?

How do MSM eye drops (to treat cataracts and glaucoma) work? What do they do when entering the eye?
I have been using these eye drops my doctor gave me to treat my cataracts which i understand they are loose pigment in the iris or something like that and the msm is supposed to get rid of them but. I thought eye drops only touched the surface of the eye ball and not go inside the cornea where the iris is. Is this true? Or do these eye drops in particular go inside the cornea where the iris is to treat all that loose pigment? If so, how do you use them? Because my doctor said " tilt your head back, put in the eye drops and gently close your eye so the drop won't go in your nasal passage" he said that the drop will get delivered after a couple of minutes to the cornea. But I don't understand how that works. Am I supposed to keep my eyes shut facing towards the cealing? Or keep my eyes shut and face towards the ground so the eye drop can concentrate around the iris? And how far does it penetrate the layers of the eye? Because I worry it could go inside the pupil and damage my vision. Will it simply go around the pupil the iris and will it break down that pigment in the iris too? or just the one that is floating.P.S. I don't often go to the doctor and I'm writing based on what I heard. I'm not sure if it is glaucoma or cataracts what I have but it does make my vision blurry I just want to know how to use these eye drops so they can be delivered effectively where they're supposed to go.

Anyone ever have Laser eye surgery to remove cataracts?

Can cataracts break loose?
My bf just told me his cataract broke loose and caused him to loose vision in his eye. His excuse for standing me up. He spent the morning in the hospital??? I never heard of this happening. Is it possible??

A friend of mine has cataracts?

Does colour blindness vanish after undergoing surgery for cataracts?

What happens to cataracts if you don't remove them?
I developed a cataract in my left eye a few years ago after an eye injury. It developed really fast and I haven't been able to see out of that eye at all for over a year. The pupil is a pale grey color now. I want to get it removed to restore my vision but I can't afford it and don't have insurance or benefits from my job right now. I'm only 25 and just work at a store part time and live with friends. Is there any danger in leaving it alone for now? I know I won't be able to have it removed for a while and I just want to make sure it won't cause any permanent damage to my eye.

Is This Right? (Retinal Detachment/Cataract/Lens/Insurance/Hospital Question)?
Let me make a very long story short and get right to the questions.I have moved across the United States by myself at the age of 20 with no insurance covered by my parents, nor will they ever if they could. I had a retinal detachment in my left eye. Paid out of pocket for an eye doctor appointment, he freaked out and told me to go straight to the emergency room for emergency surgery since my entire retina was detached. After my surgery, half unconscious too, a social worker got assigned to me because I was under 21 and legally dependent on the state. So the state paid for my surgery. I had a 2nd one too because the first failed.During my 2nd surgery I had cataracts in my eye so they removed the natural lens. And they never replaced the natural lens since they feared the retina may detach again like the first time. But it stay together and I turned 21. So therefore, legally independent by the state. My check up appointment was after my birthday which the front desk of the eye section declared I must pay $80 for every check up visit, which they wanted me to come in every other week. And if I did not pay, I could not go in. Due to my 6 months of surgeries and recover time I had no money, and was not working. I live with my in laws, and they were taking care of me, but they are certainly not going to pay my medical bills. So here I am now, age 22 and I have been working for about a year. My job does not offer health insurance until you worked for a year, and even then, there is a certain month you can sign up.I have been walking around for over a year without a natural lens, or ANY lens in my left eye. This is in no way like being blind. My doctor had told me that if I got my license and drove, if ever in an accident, I would get in serious trouble because you are not supposed to drive this way. Not that I do, I cannot see correctly so it is wicked dangerous.Having no lens in one eyes messes with your other eye. Hard to explain unless you have literally had this situation before. Sunlight glares into my bad eye, then into my good eye. Same with darkness or bright lights in general. I am actually very blind at night because of this. This is literally ruining my life. I have no money to pay for insurance, or the surgery which can be easily be 10,000 dollars. Is this legal for a county hospital to do? I have never heard of anyone in my situation. Even the thousands of times I have googled and searched. Never heard of anyone in my shoes. What are my rights here? Is there some way I can fight this? Where is my justice? This is holding me back so badly in life. Please someone with real help and not a crappy site they copy and pasted, help I need some real human help

Cataracts of the eye may be difficult to diagnose in the early stages. In a study to evaluate the reliability?
Cataracts of the eye may be difficult to diagnose in the early stages. In a study to evaluate the reliability of their diagnoses, two physicians each examined the same 1,000 eyes, without knowing the other s diagnoses. Each physician found 100 eyes with cataracts. 1.Does this mean that the diagnoses are reliable? 2.Explain your position. 3.How does reliability affect screening and treatment programs for a condition? 4.What are the socio political ramifications of understanding reliability prior to implementing a screening program?
