How much prednisone is normal to take for a severe asthma attack?
Assume the following 5'7" , 130 lb. female in her 20s with no other health problems, but smokes 10 cigarettes a day. Asthma attack which has left her struggling for breath for four days straight. Been prescribed prednisone before, fairly recently, with no ill effects. Using inhaler normally.inB4 " stop smoking, dumba$s" Also, taking no other medications.
I want to start running but my asthma is getting in the way.. and tips?
I never have a problem with it in normal life but if i run for more than about a minute a minute and a half my chest gets very tight and i have to stop. I have a blue and a brown inhaler neither of which i use normally. What can I do?
Why is my asthma getting worse?
I was diagnosed with asthma about 3 years ago and to be honest i could barely notice it. But in the years it seems to becoming more noticable.

So I just found out I have mild intermittent asthma, and was given an inhaler, but I still have some questions I want to ask about all this stuff. I've been sick so my breathing is jacked up and I use the inhaler more than I guess I would usually use it.How many times a day do you normally use your inhaler?When do you use your inhaler? When you feel shortness of breath or chest tightness?Do you sometimes wait out your symptoms to use your inhaler or do you immediately use it?That's all the questions I have for now... thanks for the help
Bronchitis and a slight case of asthma?
So it has been around two and a half weeks since i have had bronchitis i have been taking antibiotics with a asthma inhaler but it seems to have little effect. every hour or so i have a cough attack within these attacks i cannot breath and i vomit mucus and what i have recently eaten drunk, this has been a increasing problem for me, as i can hardly get a good nights sleep without waking up feeling that I'm about to die from choking on mucus and vomit, If anyone has a suggestion on how to subside these affects it would be greatly appreciated. i have tried cough suppressants and cough drops I do not smoke nor do i live in a environment of smokers
Should I be checked for asthma?
I have troubles breathing when I excerise, as in a run out of breath before I should. When I jog it takes me about 2 5 mins to need to catch my breath, running takes me about 1 mins, and sprinting takes me about 30 45 secs, and both my mom and my grandfather her dad have it.
What is prednisone 20mg used for with asthma attacks antibiotic or steriod?
Is it possible to have had asthma since childhood and not have been diagnosed?
I am obese. I'm 32 now. I have been overweight my whole life. I have trouble breathing when walking or exercising. I've always since childhood get really out of breath to where it is extremely hard to breath. My whole family is overweight and no one else has this problem that I have. I never thought about asthma. I just figured it was because I was overweight and I'm thinking my doctors figured the same therefore never testing me for it. My son has asthma. I don't know if anyone else in my extended family has asthma. My son's doctor told me one day that it sounds like I may have asthma. And I had to go to the ER because of problems breathing, coughing, etc and they told me to check with my doctor to test for asthma. They gave me a breathing treatment which made it easier for me to breath, prescriptions for the same meds my son uses but for adults and told me to go ahead and use his breathing machine whenever I am wheezing a lot. So I'm wondering could I have had asthma all these years and just assumed the symptoms were from me being overweight?
Medical Marijuana for a minor with asthma?
Hello, my name is Trevor and I am 14 years old. I have had asthma my entire life and have also gone into depression " probably just puberty." I have done marijuana in the past to be honest. Whether it be smoking or eating. I noticed that when I was under the influence of cannabis that I felt as if I could actually take full breaths and socialize with people and it was great. But when the high wore off, my lungs would become very tight and it would be hard to breathe. I began to research on what SMOKING marijuana does to the lungs. I then found out that that is the cause of my troubled breathing. I couldn't afford that since I already had troubles with that because of asthma already. About 3 months ago I heard about vaporizing marijuana and its effects, I learned that it is by far healthier then smoking and that the high is much quicker and lasts longer. When you smoke, you let toxins into your lung that will stick and could cause future damage. But when you vaporize, it is just pure THC and there are no cons to it. I vaporized for my first time about a month and a half ago and found all of this to be true, I could breathe better, I could regulate thoughts better, creativity was off the wall, and I was an all around better person. TL DRIs it possible to get a medical marijuana card in the state of California as a minor? If so, my father wanted to know if it would be possible for him to regulate the weed as a father. So that way I don't smoke too much
Is my asthma gone? I used to have it, but now I can smoke and have no problems.?
I used to have asthma symptoms about 7 years ago but haven't had an attack in 7 years. I can smoke and not be affected at all
Hai! I want to do cheer for next year but I have asthma and am not rlly athletic...?
My asthma gets affected by just running two laps around the track and I do that every other day.. I'd love to do cheer, can I? Is there anyway to build up endurance to it? I mean I've been running every other day for three years and it only seems to be getting worse if anything. Do you have to run in cheer at practices?Thxx
Is this an asthma attack?
I AM asthmatic I very very very rarely wheeze, even with severe attacks resulting in hospitalisation. I have chest tightness & painI can only get half a breath in I dont have constant coughing, but it does last around half an hour a time when it startsi have purple fingernails normal for me but darker than normalair feels like its getting caught in my airways when i'm breathing & results in coughing.my chest feels to be vibrating when i breathe& I'm getting extremely short of breath when i'm moving.ive been like this since tuesday, does it sound like a long attack or something else?my peak flow is down & has been since thursday from 500 to pushing 330.
Does lexapro have asthma side effects?
I have had major trouble with my asthma. The only thing that has changed is I switced to lexapro from cymbalta. Can that cause a trigger to asthma. Agentjan

think im having a minor asthma attack now... very wheezy, constant coughing, drinking water and breathing heavyly. any tips right now would help alot..thnx for help guys it, it starting to go away now althoughh i feel like vommiting from all the coughing i jus did...
