Aphasia
aphasia Information
Do the people with global aphasia have memory,or can they do things, can they take care of themselves?
Can someone with language impairment or damage such as aphasia still be able to do math?
I heard of a case when someone who has had a brain injury literally has trouble form words speak, but can still do math fine. Why would he have such trouble with language but not with patterns or math.
Do I have aphasia, or just a really bad memory?
I can't think of certain words. Sometimes I mix words up. I used to constantly say table cloth when I meant coffee table. Then I would say coffee table when I meant table cloth. I also used to call my parent's cat Chloe, and my best friend's daughter Fluffy. and of course the names were reversed I went through about a year of not being able to think of what mini blinds were, now I remember that. This sounds stupid but now I can't think of the word treadmill. I thought about it for about 5 minutes before I started typing, finally remembered it and then started typing and promptly forgot it again. Sometimes I can't think of it at all and have to ask someone. I promise I'm not stupid but this sure makes me sound like I am. I do have problems with forgetting things besides words. Apparently, according to the little box next to this box I'm typing in, I also have a problem with punctuation. too many commas and these bracket things I can't recall the name of? ok, there's another one and I finally thought of what they are, they are parenthesis. So please overlook that and answer my over punctuated question.
Symptoms for aphasia?
If someone with aphasia can't say a word and then they hear someone say the word are they then able to say it?
because i've herd that having aphasia is like having a word on the tip of your tounge and usually when you have a word on the tip of your tounge and someone says it you can then say it. i'm just wondering

What is a aphasia means?
What is motor aphasia and is there a way to get rid of it?
Lately, I have been having trouble with using a similiar word in place of the word I mean. Is this aphasia?
An example of this would be if I was trying to say that I had accepted a letter instead I would write I excepted it. This is extremely out of character for me to mix up words like this. Is it something that should concern me?
Can people who developed auditory aphasia still appreciate instrumental music?
Wrong words come out: Aphasia?
First, let me state that I have, and always have had, an extensive vocabulary and exemplary language skills. But I have noticed a problem that is occurring with increasing frequency I will be speaking just fine, when I hear the wrong word come out of my mouth. I am aware that it is not right, but it seems that I cannot control it. Probably 90 % of the time, the word that I say starts with the same letter or sound as the word I meant to say, but the words are never related it's not like an acceptable synonym interjects itself . It seems random to me in that I've not noticed any correlation to stress, fatigue, headaches or any other factors. I know it used to happen about once or twice a month, now it seems to happen every few days, sometimes multiple times a day. Does this sound like aphasia, or is there a different disorder that could cause this? I am 47, female, hypertensive, family history of Alzheimer's, used to suffer tremendously from migraine and cluster headaches and get occasional " brain spikes." I don't drink, use illegal drugs, or currently take any medications. Any ideas what I need to look into are welcomed
