Does having corrected aortic stenosis delay the start of your period?
Okay, so I have corrected aortic stenosis, which is basically a heart disease in which the aortic valve was too small. I had open heart syrgery at the age of five weeks and was told that I could still have children naturally, so I take it that meant periods too? I do everything the same as anyone woth a normal heart. The only thing is, I'm gonna be thirteen in May and I still havent started my period. I know it may be quite ordinary, but my sister started young, and my mum started around my age. I should have it by now as I am a 34C Cup bra and I have had 'half periods' just not the 'full thing' I get tummy cramps and I've been developing since year five, if you get what I mean? I always get discarge and things? Please don't joke around, this is serious. Thank you.

Does this rule out aortic stenosis?
I have had anEchocardiogram x2Chest MRIStress testThe echocardio gram came out fine but I am worried it might have missed something because my heart rate was around 110 bpm and I have read that the diastolic filling period is shorter and it might miss arotic stenosis.WHen the doctor listens to my heart it is also racing around 110bmp and I am scared that he might miss something b c of the same reason. My stress test had a normal response. My BP started around 120 80 and ended around 180 80.It started to raise slowly like it should it went something like this120 80130 90140 80150 70180 80 would this help rule it out b c of my increase in cardiac output? Im not sure why the diastolic would drop and raise but the cardiologist said I had a normal responds. My heart rate also raised in normal fashion. The reason I am worried I have AS is because after I exercise I feel a thrill on the bottom right carotid artery near my sternum. My doctor says its just from my cardiac output rising so much and I can feel the blood. I had a ultrasound on that carotid artery and it was normal I also can feel a slight delay time between my Apex apical beat and my carotid artery when I am resting and I have read that is also a sign. But the delay goes away when exercising. I have been to 3 different cardiologists for similar reasons and everyone says I am fine.Is it possible for all these test to miss AS b c my heart rate is always so fast when I go to the doctor b c I am panicking?

What is the progression of aortic stenosis in the elderly?
We have an elderly family member who was diagnosed with aortic stenosis in 2006. His heart was evaluated again last year and the measurement of the valve was around 1cm. Last year he began having fainting episodes and ended up in the hospital twice as a result of injuries from the fall. At that time he also told the doctors that he has been having chest pain. The doctor told us that due to his age 93 and his other health problems, he is not a candidate for any type of surgery. The last six months, he has gone downhill quite a bit. In addition, he has dementia which has progressed a lot. Since he began fainting, he moved into an assisted living facility. He seems extremely weak and has trouble walking and even sitting up in bed. Lately, he has been having a lot of trouble swallowing as well. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with an elderly person who has had this and is not going to be treated with surgery. I've found a lot of information about the prognosis after surgery, but not too much if surgery is not performed. Overall, my family is just wondering what we should expect. Will he continue to go downhill quickly or will his decline level out? It's difficult to really ask him about his symptoms because of the dementia, he does not really understand what you are asking. Any help or personal experience will be appreciated Thanks

Is it a good idea if I swim competitively when I have aortic stenosis?
I have just joined my college's swim team and I have been swimming for about 2 weeks now. I have had aortic stenosis all of my life and I have had to quit playing soccer because of it when I was a small child. My doctor says I should play sports at my own discretion. After swimming I experience a very strong, fast pulse but no chest discomfort or sharp pain. Is this healthy? Should I be swimming this rigorously? practice is 2 hours a day Thank you for your answers.

Does having resolved aortic stenosis (a heart disease) delay your period?
I've had part periods and everything but for some odd reason the whole thing hasn't come? I've been having discharge since year 5 and I'm currently in year 8. I have b 9 cup boobs and I'm 'ready' if you know what I mean, and I have been for a while? I don't think it's one of those, " it will come in time things?" I had open heart surgery to correct my valve when I was 6 weeks old sooo yeahh, please help,, much thanksss D

How to care for an aortic stenosis patient at home while they await an opening at a medical faciltiy?
At one hospital they said they would do the open heart surgery with a 2 out of 3 success rate, we then went to Cleveland Clinic which has a 3 month waiting list to have an intravenously inserted valve replacement. Makes me wonder if we should go back to the first hospital, instead of waiting. Thank you for your answers

What does it mean " Mild valvular aortic stenosis with mild aortic regurgitation ?

Severe Aortic Stenosis not showing on echo--19 years old!?
Hello I am 19 years old and i was born with Aortic Stenosis, Aortic regurgitation, a bicuspid aortic valve and an enlarged aortaI have been getting an echo and ekg once a year since i was born, this year i have had a minimum of 4 or 5. All of these echos have showed mild moderate aortic stenosis right on the edge and mild regurgitation. Yet even though it was only mild i was having a ton of symptoms.I switched to a new cardiologist and he ordered a echo stress test. It showed signs that their may be an obstruction so he ordered a cardiac cath.During the Cath it showed i have severe aortic stenosis. How could this be missed on an echo??? I am now scheduled for a PET scan to check my coronary arteries and then surgery this summer. How could an echo show mild stenosis when it was really severe?
