What causes angioedema?
My face started swelling all strange for a while and my doctor said it was angioedema? What causes this?
Idiopathic urticaria and angioedema?
Anyone with personal experience in this. Do you have any advice for my 4 yr old who suffers from frequent bouts of severe swelling and hives with no known cause?Pleas4e no Googled paste answers I could do that myself. I would like advice from real sufferers or parents.We did skin prong testing but she is demographic also so she tested positive to everything. The doctors have been reluctant to do further testing because of her age, they say she may still grow out of it. We know she is allergic to bees, fleas, and cinnamon. I might want to add that I suffer from either Lupus or fibromyalgia no final diagnosis yet and her father recieves allergie shots for pollen allergies that are severe. She has had at least 6 major reations ending in ER visits and EPI 3 times in the last 2.5 years.Also she appears to have these reactions to cold wheather or extreme heat sweating. And heavy physical activity. I feel like she is a ticking time bomb. I have no pets or house plants and clean dust often in hopes of helping control some of the reactions.
Help pitted edema and idiopathic angioedema?
I woke up one day 7 yrs ago with a swollen tounge and it swells every day now Every year in pollen season I get sicker Now this year I have tounge swelling throat closing off and entire body pitted edema daily been to drs. No one can help. They have already ruled out hereditry angioedema. I'm on a lot of meds n carry a vial of epenepherine n syringes with me n have to take shots daily Please help I'm afaid this will eventually be fatal.
How can I treat my lips after having angioedema?
After the swelling went down on my bottom lip after a case of angioedema swelling under the skin it seems that top layer of skin is dead. I believe this is beause of the stretching of the lip skin, now my lip is white and discolored. It looks horrible, but im worried that it will scab up and look worse. Anyone have any ideas on how to treat this?
Since ace inhibitors may cause intestinal angioedema, could that in turn cause heart arrhythmia?
Was on an Ace Inhibitor, due to a stroke from high blood pressure.The Ace Inhibitor caused severe stomach pain, but kept taking it, as per doctor. Not long after, was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia. Could there be any connection between the Ace Inhibitor, stomach pain, and arrhythmia?
Food allergy or angioedema?
I used to eat everything untill 10 years ago when I found out that I am probably allergic to certain foods, since then, I have seen more then 12 different specialist, and took many tests to diagnose this problem. my problem with all this is that I have gotten different result from each test, and different opinion from each doctor I have seen. some of them suggested that I probably don't have food allergy but what I have may be called angioedema. I'm not sure of all this, I sometimes feel like I can't trust these doctors anymore, so, please if you knew anything about this please help me with your advice, also need to know if there is a good clinic in my area that has a good reputation in this field, even if it's out my state Rhode Island. thxfirst, thx to all of u for taking time to help me. I really appreciate this. yes, when my body reacts, I do get swelling beneath my skin, and in each time, it's in different places of my body. the scariest one is when I get it in my tongue, sometimes I can't breath I looked every where for Mayo clinic's address closer to my area, but I couldn't find any. please help with their address. thank you very much.

Angioedema welts on face from possible hair dying?
i have what is believed to be angioedema around my eyes. I was watching tv when my eyes started itching and i scratched them... an hour later i looked in the mirror and noticed welts. I did some online research and come across the condition angiodema and saw that it could be an allergic reaction to something that goes down the bloodstream. The first thing i thought of was my birth control pills, but my mom assured me that i've been taking those for a month now. So the conclusion that i came up with is that earlier today i dyed my hair at home and i rinsed out the died hair without wear gloves, could that have caused it? i'm pretty sure it did, but i still have a few questions like how long will it take for the angioedema to go away? is it okay to put itching medicine on it? should i sanitize everything i've touched with my hands after i died my hair?I couldn't find a whole lot of research on this topic, it would help me if you could answer some of my questions about it if you know any more about angioedema more than me. Thank you.
Hives and Angioedema questions?
So this weekend I went out with some friends and smoked some weed, however, I noticed that this stuff we got was a weird strain, and had some crystals on it that I haven't seen before. Nonetheless, I decided to go through with it, and come Monday, there I was with a swollen face, lips, and hives on my body. My question is, could this have been caused by something in the weed i.e meth, and how long does it take to go away? I don't even want to go to school right now, I look hideous . And also, is angioedema supposed to dry out your skin? My face feels like a zombie's right now.
Does anyone know anything about Angioedema?
It is also known as giant hives. I have already read all the information on it from the internet. Does anyone have this and can tell me what helps? I have tried Benedryl, Allegra, and all the other allergy based medicine. Nothing works and I am not positive that my angioedema is allergy based. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis about 10 years ago and have had my colon removed because of it. I started getting these hives about 5 years ago. Do you know if the Ulcerative Colitis could have caused the hives? Any help is appreciated
Stress and Angioedema?
I am a 24 year old woman who has been suffering form serious welts on my body, usually triggered by stress. I used to call them hives, but as they don't itch, occur generally on my face, eyes, ears, scalp, bikini line and forearms, I think they may be known as angioedema. I have been to 2 general practitioners, multiple allergists, an acupuncturist, a chiropractor, 2 dermatologists, a endocrinologist, and 2 therapists in the last 4 years. No one can tell me why they occur. I was on celexa for two years and had dramatic improvement from this but the problem is, I do not want to keep taking an anti depressant. I am a high anxiety kind of person, but I am not depressed. Why did Celexa work and what else can I try to get this under control? The bumps welts etc last between 24 48 hours, and leave bruises and tenderness behind when they are gone. They range in size from a quarter to the size of my palm. When I hit my leg on the corner of a table they occur, or when I pluck my eye brows my eyes swell up, but in general they occur during times of stress. A bit about myself I exercise regularly, I'm fit, I eat healthy, 1 2 glasses of wine a night, and occasionally socially smoke. I practice yoga, write in a journal, do various stress relief exercises, and cannot seem to beat these unfortunate symptoms. I have allergies to latex, and the hepatitis B vaccine neither of which contribute to these welts and no family history of anything similar.
