Exercise induced amenorrhea?
I am curious to know if anyone else has this problem. I am 5'9, and about 127 pounds. August, I was 142 pounds. I decided I wanted to become more toned and athletic. I started exercising every day and eating a very healthy diet I get the recommended amount of calories I need, eat a lot of protein in beans, nuts and greek yogurt while avoiding meats most of the time because I'm trying to become a vegetarian . But, have I gotten to the point where I've lost all of my fat reserves and replaced them with muscle? I ask because the last time I had my period was the end of July into the beginning of that August. So, I've missed a late August, September, October, and now November period. Is this okay, and have you experienced this? If not, what measures should I take to make sure I'm living a healthy lifestyle? I feel completely energetic and happy. I'm not stressed, and my body seems to be responding very well to the intensity of my routine. This is the only glitch in my regimen, but I'm worried that it could indicate a larger problem in hormone levels fat levels etc. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this
Can secondary amenorrhea lead to infertility?

How long could one go without food before secondary amenorrhea (absent menstrual cycle)?
When people with anorexia nervosa go long periods without food, their menstrual cycles stop. It is because the body shuts down anything it can, to save all of it's " storage" for it's vital functions. The human body will go into ketosis after about 4 days without food, meaning it will use it's fat for energy. Because of this, the body knows that it is unable to support a pregnancy and stops a womans period from happening. What I would really like to know is how long could one go without food whether it be anorexia, water fast, etc,. before experiencing secondary amenorrhea. I would also like to add that I do NOT suffer from anorexia, or any other eating disorder for that matter. I am just asking a question relating to the disorder.
Kinda awkward, I keep spotting...? Used to have amenorrhea...?
I used to be a little underweight 5'6" and 10 lbs and now I'm about 121 lbs. Because I lost a lot of weight hence the 107 lbs , I didn't get my period for over a year. Now I don't really get a period but I keep spotting? This happened around January 31st and again yesterday. Aside from making me feel very very fat, is this normal for my situation?
I have amenorrhea? Is it a serious problem?
I haven't had a period in at least 3 months or so. Finally got it today.I take birth control pills and anxiety medication that also doubles as bipolar antidepressant . I exercise about 2 hours a day, every day. I'm a long distance runner. And I also have a pituitary tumor. It's almost as if I were born to have amenorrhea, sheesh I kinda like not having periods... But is it particularly damaging to my health not to have them?I'm turning 17 next week. I used to have irregular periods, bad cramps, an menstrual migraines before I started taking bc. I have manic depression and anxiety that is controlled under my medication. The tumor was found by accident a few years ago in searching for migraine causes. I had hormone tests a few years ago that were normal, also. Should I get them again? I plan to see my gyno soon.
Is white discharge a sign that my period is coming? I have had amenorrhea for about 4 months now....?
It's very gooey and cloudy white, not excessive but i can tell when it comes if you know what i mean.... i usually get it about 2 3 times a day
Is this amenorrhea from an eating disorder?
I am 16 years old and am in recovery with anorexia. I maintained my period over the months, however in the final week, I stopped eating and lost even more weight, so that I was 3 kg underweight. I have been eating normally for a month, but now have lost my period, whereas the whole time I was starving myself I had it. Is it possible that I have now lost them? I am not underweight anymore.
What treatments do Doctors normally use for Amenorrhea?
I have amenorrhea.... my next appointment will be in a week and a half so I have seen a doctor but I'm waiting to hear my results til then. I've always been irregular before I started the yaz pills.... but now my cycle is completely nonexistent since I stopped using them. Me and my husband have been talking about having kids so using birthcontrol to regulate my cycle is out of the question. Has anyone else have this problem and if so what was the solution to the problem. Does anyone know what types of treatments the use to start your cycle back up?Amenorrhea is the absence of a menstral cycle.
Question about Primary Amenorrhea?
I'm 17 and I've never had my period, so I'm in the primary amenorrhea category. Thing is, I'm getting worried about it and I've been to the doctors they've already run blood tests, ultrasound and everything is normal. now they're going to send me to a gyno . im just wondering what the gyno would do to treat it? will she give birth control pills?
